It literally looks like something you'd expect to see on Five Minute Crafts.
If there's not a Fallout 4 mod to add that gun + a Legendary variant, "Abe's Bane" by the end of the week, we will have failed as a people.

Pretty sure those are Chinese armed police. They deal with knifers using a long y-shaped bracket shown in the photo. There's this funny photo of a Black guy being held down by these.
The Japanese have a crowd control weapon called the Sasumata. It's basically a big flexible U onna stick.

Know of this cause one of the shitty Isekai manga I read had the smartass reincarnated Japanese guy put those on his golems to catch bandits. Those are approved for security guards, particularly in schools, apparently. Ideally you use multiples, one on the neck, another on an arm, etc.

Who is the disgusting faggot that uses emojis like this?
Bellum Acta is a tryhard "news" telegram channel that usually focuses on european-ish news. The guy running it left/abandoned it for a while, iirc.

It makes an appearance in Morimiya Middle School Shooting. I guess this is how its intended to be used?

Hope he pulls through and they find the person who did this. Something like this happening in Japan, a very quit place from everything I've gathered, gives me an uneasy feeling.
Japan has way worse crime than the world realizes, and that's kind of the point. They want to look squeaky clean to the rest of the world, so they sweep a lot of their shit under the rug. Japan is absolutely rife with crimes like sex trafficking, child rape, every other type of rape, mass school stabbings, mass assisted-living stabbings, etc. There was one particular mass-stabbing I recall at an assisted living center for potatoes that was hushed up despite parents of multiple victims doing interviews for international reporters to raise awareness.

The only thing quiet about Japan crime-wise is their hush-up policy, so I can't blame you at all for thinking otherwise.

Wonder what kind of knee-jerk laws they are going to make after this. They recently rammed through 'cyberbullying' laws because some minor celeb an heroed. The dude had a pipe shotgun, guess they'll ban duct tape.
As well as tools, books anything that lets you craft your own stuff. Great for corporations, bad for everyone else. Also it does an impeccable job of screwing up innovation too.

Isn't most of Europe like this too?

Shoko Asahara was executed on July 6th, 2018. If this had occurred two days ago that would be a very convincing motive...
Hmm... by any chance, was Abe expected to make an appearance two days ago but it got rescheduled for today? Moreover, when you're a deranged Aum holdout it's hard to ensure that your targets will appear in public on symbolic dates. Maybe he settled for the closest he could get.

Well the only thing I see here is that.

Elites thinking strong gun control will keep them safe, are delusional.

This isn't to imply that Abe was a bad guy or anything like that.

I’m very sad to hear of his passing. There’s absolutely going to be a bias from my perspective and what’s available to me in western media, but I can’t recall ever seeing Shinzo’s name portrayed in a negative light and my limited engagement with people who have ties to the nation have had glowing opinions on him. Looking into his life, I’ve read that despite fertility treatments, he and his wife were unable to conceive and he’ll be survived by her and his two brothers. This man had no influence on my day to day life but I can’t help but to feel a deep empathy for his loss.

The wiki page has a decent timeline of events.
Abe was initially responsive but went into cardiac arrest on the way to hospital, the suspect is former Maritime Self-Defense Force from 2002 to 2005 and Fumio has called back all incumbent members of the party to Tokyo for briefings.

Opportunity of the shooter was Abe making a speech on behalf of Kei Sato, a Liberal Democratic Party candidate running for re-election, ahead of upcoming upper house elections scheduled on Sunday, 10 July.
My question is to Motive. Why killed Abe, who resigned from PM and the Party in 2020, who held no power, had rectal ulsors and was essentially in public to spruik a candidate. Why assassinate an aging politician after they left office?

Apparently the perpetrator said that he "think he'd like to kill someone" today. This speaks to a random spark of the moment thing rather than a planned attack. He walked around with the zipgun in his backpack, saw Abe and thought "why not?"
