What do we actually know at this time?

Kanata had an emergency meeting, said it wasn't serious, but she's Japanese so that could be their usual act in regards to trying to squash drama. We know she's now unexpectedly moving. Kson's English post is bizarre because Kanata isn't pretending like they aren't friends anymore, and we know that she hasn't had to pretend like she isn't friends with Rushia, so I'm just confused about whatever the fuck she's saying.

IMO it doesn't matter if Kanata literally lived with Rushia instead of Kson, if Cover had the gall to actually tell Kanata to move then they are fucked up and should be ashamed, but what I imagine actually happened is that Cover laid out new rules for Kanata in regards to Kson and Rushia, and she may have just decided it would be too much hassle. I said in one of my last few posts that I am generally dissatisfied with how I perceive Cover's management decisions, but it would still surprise me if they were to actively try and force a situation where Kanata had to upend her life just because of some Corpo nonsense. I think it's likely not as malicious as some here are making it out to be. Wouldn't it just be worse for them if their actions made Kanata consider quitting or started her thinking that Cover doesn't care about her at all? There's a fucking humongous difference between her working as an indie and her working for a rival corpo, even if that corpo is just in name. This is basic 101 conflict of interest shit. Sure, you might be professional today, but there's no telling how you'll act in the future. What if working for VShojo morphs you into a tribalfag like me or Scuttle, and suddenly you lash out irrationally?
I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that this might be worded badly and is just her venting. I'm also wondering if her time as kson has made her not care about kayfabe at all, when it is still an important appeal of some vtubers.

I'm still trying to get a feel for what exactly it is, but so far this is what I have:

• Monthly manga serialisation.
• Monthly Light Novel serialisation.

However, both of these are online and will include voice-acting from the cast of characters. Some of the cast are well-known voice actors like Eguchi Takuya, some smaller voice actors, and most are from NIJISANJI voicing characters that somewhat resemble them.

To put it as simply as possible, it's starting as a Nijisanji collab manga and novel that will be published by Kadokawa and could become more things in the future. A vexing but cool announcement overall.

What appears to be happening is that the V-Tubers are being treated as 'actors' for external products. So, kind of like what Yakuza does with mocapping a cast of actors as different characters, except it's now V-Tubers.

So the girl in the hat and mask is an original character being 'portrayed' by Lize Helesta, for example.

I'm going to assume that Nijisanji have given KADOKAWA access to their IP's likeness for this manga and light novel serialisation (I think there's also a Drama CD but I haven't checked) because it gives them an 'in' for possible anime and video game distribution in the future. There is cause to believe this, too, given that KADOKAWA are responsible for publishing Kurusu Natsume's light novel series, and are closely affiliated with Kodansha, who signed 'Trinity' (Furen, Hakase, Rion) to do the ED for their 'Dawn of the Witch' anime.

So yeah. It seems Niji are pushing to make V-Tubers recognised as 'virtual actors' to be put into mixed media, starting with this joint venture.

Sounds like Kanata herself might have had some concerns maybe thinking getting caught up in Kson drama could risk doxxing herself, maybe thinking Kson's new gig might bring people or things to their apartment she didn't want to have to deal with.

Overall it doesn't sound like "Cover forcing her to move" at the very least. Sounds like "2 peoples lives moving in different directions" and just making cohabitation more difficult/less ideal
