This is pretty surreal. Literally everyone from Abe, the bystanders next to him, and even his own security detail just stand there utterly dumbfounded and shocked after that first shot. You can almost hear everyone thinking "the fuck was that?" after he fires off that first blast. I can't help but wonder if he would've survived if he hadn't turned around and taken the shotgun pellets broadside like that. I won't shit on Abe for not hitting the deck or running for it after the first shot, but I absolutely will shit on his security for their reaction time there; I suspect everyone in Japan and around the world will do the same.

It's like the spread shot just aligned themselves to aim for Abe only, how the fuck did it miss the guys behind him entirely and with two blasts at that?

But damn, dude. There are a lot of bad ways to go, but exsanguination is a pretty slow, particularly shitty way (usually, anyway). Like him or not, Abe wasn't so bad of a person to justify/"deserve" that kind of end. As far as politicians go, he didn't exactly crack the top 10 of the absolute worst and/or insufferable, and compared to a lot of Asian leaders he was nowhere near the tyrant he could've been. At least he cared about legacy and the preservation of his own people's society. More than anyone over here in the west can say about our leaders.

This also probably has to be one of the most pointless politician assassinations to happen in a very, very long time. Sure, Abe ruffled feathers during his time in office among various different groups, but it was never anything so bad that he had to be "removed" to "preserve the tranquility" or whatever the fuck justification they like to use. Compared to Park Geun-Hye and all that fallout, any drama with Abe was incredibly tame and with significantly less uproar. Killing him isn't taking a stand against anything, nor is it preventing something or to avenge anyone. There was quite literally no purpose, and I think that's probably one of the worst things about this.
This Yamagami dude absolutely just decided that god letting him live another day had to become everyone else's problem, and judging by what all they removed from his home, he's been nigger-rigging his own firearms for longer than a week. Willing to bet he's not man enough to seppuku himself, either.

Precisely, it's been an annoyance to read anything about this event. People can't fucking talk anything relevant and instantly start talking about unrelated horseshit such as U.S. Gun Laws, fuck, Abe was a good guy with great achievements. Fucking asshole killed him over being dissatisfied, now he's going to get a taste of the Japanese Government in action when he's hanging from a noose. May Abe rest in peace, he didn't fucking deserve an inch of this!

I obviously can't speak about the characteristics of this nigger-rigged gun, but the patterns from most shotguns don't spread anywhere near as quickly as movies and video games have convinced many people of.

I can't tell how close they are to Abe, but it's also surprising that nobody got grazed either. The first shot missed entirely despite the crowd is almost a whole circle around him.
