I know others have said this already, but good thread. I'm glad to see this getting some attention. I like nature vids so run into this sort of disgusting content periodically. Honestly not surprised monkey hurtcore has a robust following. This content appeals to three obvious groups of "people": pedos, zoosadists, and third worlders who look up these vids as catharsis after a monkey steals from their food stall.
But I think there's a fourth group that is attracted to this sort of content: closeted sadists. A healthy upbringing and the trappings of polite society may mean that they never seriously consider hurting another person irl, but they get some sick pleasure from watching something resembling a human be harmed. They justify it by saying that monkeys are pests in some parts of the world, that anyone who consumes meat is supporting similar cruelty against other animals, etc. They likely aren't commissioning vids. There might not even be a sexual element to it. But they're boosting the YT and FB views and causing this stuff to rank high in search results. It explains the relatively normal looking profiles that comment on these vids.
Yes, we are only a few generations removed from gathering to watch rapists and murderers be beheaded. I don't think that's the same as watching a young animal be tied up and dismembered. Just as there are more bizarre fetishists and pedos among us than you would typically expect, I think there is a good number of sadists as well. Kudos to those of you with the stomach to dig through this.
