Who did it?

It wasn't Chyna who facilitated this, it was someone else who now has too much free time on her hands...

Merkel definitely. One of the most dangerous enemies to republicanism and countries with monarchies except the British whose worst enemies are themselves and the stinkiest colony

I just had a hilarious and horrible thought. For us older kiwis does anyone remember the Bush Incident in the 90s where, suffering from illness, George Bush Sr. vomited in the emperor of Japan's lap?

Now imagine a doddering, senile president attending the former PM's funeral, assuming they let him.

EDIT: I am apparently senile as well as old, turns out it was the then PM's lap, not the emperor's.
The Japanese have a slang word for this called bushurusu. Probably faded off over time but it was all the rage in the 90s and early 2ks. "I'm about to bushurusu all over this packed train"

stupid ass question but how exactly did he get ammo? like it's not the easiest thing to make yourself. you gotta get a primer, smokeless powder, all that shit.
Steel balls for ball bearings + black gunpowder + pipe with right diameter + some kind of ignition system like electric spark = basically a gun

First off, my prayers and condolences to Shinzo Abe’s family at this very tragic and unfortunate time. Also, props to Null for putting this on the front of the page for people to be more aware of this incident, even if it is through a very discouraging and disturbing incident like this.

I largely avoided wanting to post on this topic since I don’t think it’s appropriate for a gāijin like myself to think that I know what the real reason for some lone gunman to shoot and assassinate a retired and former PM like Abe, who had a lot of supporters and detractors. But for Americans in our country, it’s largely disheartening to see people advocate yet again for more gun controls in the most gun controlled country like Japan; meanwhile in the same breadth, you have actual people trying to compare this to the famous sword chucker who stabbed a Japanese politician in the stomach for trying to bring Communism into a country whose own citizens were used in interment camps during WWII (as well as their citizens who don’t apologize for war crimes, but that’s largely a different story for another day.)

All in all, this is just another example of someone trying to take out another high profile individual to send a “message” which will do nothing more but make more innocent civilians wonder how the government will trample the rights on regular citizens that just want to get through their day to day without worrying how much an attack like this could affect Japan’s political hierarchy through many years, if not decades, to come.

So to all you outsiders much like myself that are abroad telling Japan how to grieve and think that more needs to be done for their sake, remember:

You really are not helping your case sounding like a former hitman who tried to assassinate a former U.S. President, or a current U.S. President flip flopping on why gun violence needs to be condemned, while signing bills and advocating for gun control measures that can not even stop U.S. blue state Democrat cities that are overran with urban crime and shootings that make the places unlivable and unsafe.

Apologies for the long winded reply, but I think we need to calm down and not fall for the bait. This is just tragic all around, and I do hope Japan recovers in this.

It's confirmed electrical ignition and appears to be muzzle loading. Probably black powder and whatever he decided to shove down the barrel to fire (could have melted fishing sinkers if he wanted lead shot)
Black powder is charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter. Not hard things to get. You can get primer and smokeless powder from nail gun and rivet gun blanks though. Just requires some scraping.
Edit:
About powder scavenging https://odysee.com/@TheGatalog-Guides_Tutorials:b/BWA-Ammo-V1.0:b I'd recommend against opening this link if you live somewhere where guns are illegal.
Funny cause I live in America so Biden can suck it

Fun Learning Time for Lesson On Buddhist Hells

Just so y'all know according to Japanese belief of what is happening to Shinzo Abe right now.

Shinzo Abe is now in Jigoku (Japanese word for hell) and is awaiting to see king Enma who will judge his soul and see if he's worthy of a good Samsara (Buddhist rebirth). The 5 realms he could go to are gods, demigods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts (sixth is hell). If he's going to one of the hells he will be sentenced.

The human rebirth is immensely unlikely. "A human birth is said to be so rare and precious that a turtle surfacing in a vast ocean is more likely to put his head through a small ring floating on the surface than we are to get a human birth." Most people who are good are rebirthed as Animals. Theres hot hells and cold hells and special hells for special types of crimes. Buddhist hell is very specific, there are hells for animal abusers who get torn apart by animals they hurt, for example. This article in English is mostly correct about some of the hells you can experience. Buddhist hell eventually lets you be retried and leave though because Buddha is merciful. But first you have to wait to be judged.

So he's going to be waiting in line in a queue for a few months to go get his soul weighed having to cross the sanzu river etc... In other words, even in Japanese afterlife you cannot escape compact quarters, queues and being judged harshly by a superior.

He made what amounts to a blunderbuss, which in the days of piracy they would use whatever the fuck they could find as ammo, it could have been nuts, bolts, glass, nails. Basically whatever you have loaded in the barrel when the powder is ignited will come flying out at incredible speed at such a short distance to target.

Probably because shitlibs like to point to Japan as a peaceful, gun free paradise.

It’s also the counter reaction since every terrorist truck/knife/whatever attack is always followed by “OMG! If this had been in America HUNDREDS would be dead because guns!”
Of course guns slip through every now and then, that happens with any weapon but HOW many gun crimes have they had?

I'm not sayign Ban guns, I'm saying Ban Americans from having guns, plenty of countries have them without anywhere near the firearms crime rate you have. You're a country of children who need to have them taken away from you until you can learn to be adult with them.

Should also be pointed out that a lot of women and a lot of men stay lonely because their standards are too high. Not even in a "out of your league" sort of way, but I've had to explain to several men I know that they can't expect a girlfriend and wife that tick every box, you can't just pursue women who like to play video games all day just because that's your hobby. And I'm sure that goes for women as well.

And so I don't think it's a question of power, outside of shitholes women and men do have the power of choice now. But I think society is doing a bad job of lecturing people that the perfect wife or husband doesn't exist, there will always be shortcomings, and nothing is going to happen if you don't put yourself out there. The "be yourself" thing is a meme, there are things about yourself that you can't fix, so be a little bit self aware, and you'll eventually figure out what kind of woman that will be interested in you.
I dunno, this is a generation gap that I can't get over. The idea that people need to settle seems insane to me because the results of settling around me in my middleaged life are pretty bad. But I think the sexual/social/romantic environment for young people is so drastically different that I don't think I can even understand it.

Also society is definitely not drilling into women that they're on a way tighter time schedule than the men. a 30 year old neet can still bag a younger wife 10 years later and have a child if he manages to turn things around. A 30 year old cat lady is basically doomed 10 years later. They might get a husband, but there will be no kids, and younger men are way less interested in older women.

this on the other hand is you being old and out of touch, even if you're actually not old. When I was young, women didn't know this. They know now. They don't care. They'd rather sacrifice motherhood than be tied to a loser who acts like another child.

And the days of dudes turning it around and getting with a hottie right out of undergrad are *over.* That was absolutely a thing in the before times, it's not anymore. When I was young in the 90s a 5-15 year age gap for a serious relationship or marriage was absoltuely a real possibility, I know tons of people like that - it's one of the reasons I sideeye "just settle!" because the reasons those marriages worked is that both people thought the other one was a magical gift from heaven. But we don't live in that world any more and the reasons those guys were unmarried for that long are totally different from NEETs. There is no benefit in the 21st century to a young woman in getting with some autist who just figured out how to use deodorant and get a job. What good is he to her? What do they have in common? Why would she want an old tired dad for her kids? If anyone needs to be accepting reality and being realistic about their options, it's those dudes - and the ones who are even remotely acceptable dating prospects know it, and they're great boyfriends and husbands to age-appropriate women. They're not wasting young women's time.

Even then the Yakuza rarely use firearms like other criminal organizations.
I read a sweet interview with some yakuza dudes where they went into why this is. They're super pragmatic about escalation and reprisals (both from each other and forcing cops to get serious) and even budgeting consequences if they get caught in order to get back to business asap, so they were very critical of media portrayals of guys using guns in any situation where another tool would do. I think the example they used was, why shoot a dude when you could just slam his head repeatedly in a car door? that's really dumb!

Most asian "mafia" organisations think of themselves as a traditional business or even charitable community type thing so they try to make a point of not being outwardly retarded.

So hey, wokescolds....about that gun control thing....

Gun control is where liberals just totally choose to ignore common sense and worship their ideological idol.

Nevermind the whole constitutional issue or that criminals don’t care about gun laws.

Nevermind even the fact that you can make a gun out of hardware store shit if you’re determined enough.

But there are so many guns in the US that getting rid of them would be a generational issue.

Protip: When someone can’t define what a woman or an assault rifle is, they probably shouldn’t touch legislation that deals with those two things.

Don't a number of Japanese also believe in Shinto, which teaches that the spirits of the deceased live on instead of reincarnating - and may even become kami? And in any case, doesn't the average Japanese person not really take traditional religions too seriously, nor the contradictions between them?

I cant think of the last legit assassination of a politician. Drone stiking the Taliban doesn't count
I think you need to break that up into multiple parts, sitting leaders in nations of note vs african style hellholes. The last major player I can think of is Indira Gandhi in 1984. The Dutch can claim Pim Fortuyn in 2002. For the most part its been pretty stable for political leadership after the Cold War ended. You don't have the Soviets and NATO wheeling and dealing deathsquads around the world.

Yes, an isolated island with zero land borders that requires screening to get so much as an air rifle needs more gun control to stop people from MacGyvering up a shotgun with some pipe, tape, timber, and a BBQ lighter. Fucking midwits.

Soooo whats the motive?
The shooter is a 41-year-old unemployed man who served in Japan's armed forces. His beef was with a religious group that Abe was affliated with. The shooter intended to also kill a high profile member of that group who was attending the rally. Unemployment and sexual frustration go together for killings in Japan like the space between two fingers.

curious if this guy has an affiliation with the Chinese or North Koreans. This isnt how the Japanese typically assassinate people (like the Commie cutter killing him with a sword), if he was an Ultranationalist, Yakuza, etc he wouldve used a traditional sword. I think hes tied to the East.
