Emmett Till protesters stormed a senior living facility in search of the woman who has been accused of setting a lynch mob on him after a 1955 arrest warrant was unearthed in a Mississippi courthouse.
Carolyn Bryant Donham, now in her 80s, of Raleigh, North Carolina, reportedly accused Till of whistling at her in a grocery store in Money, Mississippi, in 1955.
A week later, the 14-year-old Till was abducted, tortured, fatally shot and dumped into the Tallahatchie River, where his body was found swollen and mutilated three days later. His open casket shocked the nation.
Donham's husband, Roy Bryant, and half-brother, JW Milam, were arrested for his lynching, but later acquitted. The pair eventually admitted guilt, but couldn't be prosecuted due to double-jeopardy laws.
Last week, the unserved arrest warrant for Donham was found in the basement of a Mississippi courthouse, causing Till's family and activists to once again call for justice.

'You cannot ignore this,' said Priscilla Sterling, Till's cousin, according to WRAL. 'If this is what’s needed to do for us to change our mindset, our behaviors and attitudes in the society, then this will do it. This will do it. Execute the warrant.'
One of the protesters later told a local media outlet: 'I do understand that Ms. Bryant is in her mid-to-late-80s, but understandably, this is a crime she committed when she was 22. Sixty years later, it’s time for her to be held accountable.'
Donham's daughter-in-law, Marsha Bryant, said the older woman 'had nothing to do with it.' She also claimed her relative was 'appalled' by Till's murder.
'They think she should die or go to jail forever. They think what happened to Emmett Till should happen to her,' Marsha told the Clarion Ledger.
On Wednesday, the Lead Counsel for the Black Lawyers for Justice, Malik Shabazz, and other activists stormed a senior living center in search of her.
Shabazz and the group were seen going down a grungy stairwell in the senior living facility, which was not named, to hopefully confront the old woman.
'We on the move. We don't know how they're hiding this white woman down here, they're hiding Carolyn Bryant Donham,' Shabazz said in a Facebook Live. 'They're calling the police, but we're on the move. We know she's in here.'
The group descended on the brightly lit room, where senior citizens sat in wheelchairs and looked confused as the activists - some wearing what appears to be bulletproof vests - entered.
One woman asked, 'What does she look like?' when questioned if they knew Donham.

Shabazz said: 'The false accuser of Emmett Till, the one that said that Emmett Till had sexually assaulted her...she lives in this building.'
The unidentified woman replied: 'No, honey, she does not live in this facility. She lives in a nursing home, this is not a nursing home.'
The woman went on to say that Donham lives in a nursing home - or so she heard on TV - and dodged answering the question of the exact facility the woman was at.
The group then left the facility through the side door, chanting: 'No justice, no peace' and 'black power.'
The activists also approached two other residences listed under Donham's name, to tape an 'eviction notice' to the front door.
Raleigh police were said to have arrived on the scene minutes after the protesters entered the building, according to The Daily Beast, which caused the facility to go into a brief lockdown.
The activists are still searching for Donham.
The Department of Justice closed Till's case in December, stating that no further prosecution could take place because federal hate crimes didn't exist in 1955. It also said the 'statute of limitations' for a civil rights case have expired.

Lol it's like the Ping Pong Pizza thing.

What a bunch of pussies. The killers of Emmett, Roy and JW were alive for decades after the boys death and while I haven't done much research on them in how much they kept their heads down it is known that the media followed them for quite some time, and they received death threats over the phone. If people really wanted to find them they would have. It's not like they changed their names or anything.

Sure you might say "Well Ze, going after two armed white men who showed they weren't afraid to kill would be a bad idea even for an enraged black guy" and I would tell you that you're right. However even the most paranoid people can't keep their guard up 24/7 since it wears down on the mind. A quick "guy goes to get his mail and then a single shot rings out while a car speeds away" would've done the job. But no, instead nothing literally happened to them since these types of people are pussies that would rather wait until an old woman with dementia probably doesn't even remember what happened is sitting in a nursing home before they try to do anything.

I'm not saying that someone should have lynched his killers even though they would have deserved it, since revenge killings in such a manner rarely add up to anything good. However if these fuckers wanted a chance to actually get some form of justice that train has long left the station since JW died in the 80s and Roy in the 90s.

2) Neither of his cousins known to be present at the alleged inciting incident ever claimed that he sexually assaulted her. One of his cousins (Jones) said that he was dared by some of the guys around to talk to the girl. Another one of his cousins (Wright) said they wouldn't have dared to do any such thing. But Jones also says that he was showing off a picture of an integrated class and saying that one of the white girls in it was his girlfriend, whereas Wright says that he did no such thing. The only person who claims that he even had any contact with her (which, I don't think a hand grab followed by a waist grab followed by nothing after the break-free constitutes "assault") was Carolyn Bryant. When Milam finds Till and interrogates him, he only asks: "You the nigger who did the talking?" He's not accusing him of sexual assault, here, by his own account.
Noone's impressed by niggers not admitting to having been involved in the commission of a crime.

Those involved don't care about some imaginary 'unfair lynching'. They are offended by the fact that a woman spoke out about being sexually assaulted by a nigger, and consider that a bad precedent that must be abolished.

I can understand the anger of this warrant being hidden. I also have to laugh at the "well that was so long ago" comments regarding the Till story. Everyone over the age of 12 in Chicago knows this story. Some folks may not like it but a lot of people back home see it as a warning that "not everyone has your same values" so travel smart .

Going to riot in retirement homes is a stupid idea and terrible optics. The smarter idea would be to go the legal route. The moral idea would be to get an actual formal talk if Bryant can still actually talk. Or even a public forgiveness from the Till family. But no - let's go fuck with random old people ?

For those who live beyond the internet - while second tier cities are diverse and weird I will say that the new south has surprisingly been the least racist place I've ever been to. Places are way more integrated and there's as many black republicans as white liberals. Regardless of your feelings on that case it's honestly amazing the south is now less racist than the hyper liberal areas of California or New York .

Edit : quick fun fact regarding Chicago . Look up Bur Oak cemetery . It was ( maybe still is) where Till was buried. Lovely scandal therw

Chicago was and IS a shitshow. I doubt they would care after a day.

You know What your kind is called ? LES COLLABORATEURS.

If the federal Department of Justice said this case was closed back in December 2021, wouldn't that override the state-level arrest warrant from 1955? I mean it also said that no further prosecution could take place due to federal hate crimes not being a thing back in the 1950s.
Crimes can be potentially tried on both the Federal and State level without double jeopardy being attached. Also, there could be some obscure state law on the books that would allow a state-level trial even though the Feds have said their case is closed.

That said, this whole shitshow seems more about trying to achieve "racial" justice than actual justice.

No they can't. The US Constitution explicitly prohibits retroactive criminal enforcement. Not just as an amendment, but in the original ratified document. Its not even an overly complicated portion like the 14th amendment. Its a one sentence "No U".

Article I, Section 9, Clause 3:
No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

This came up when some retards in the House of Representatives were talking about passing a law that essentially say's "Donald Trump can't be President ever again". The idea was quietly dropped.

The mask is also off in the sense that they are very close to admitting what many want: full turnabout.

We were raised to belive in equality; that people should be treated the same and given the same opportunities and that racism was supposed to be in the past.

For some activists, racism won't be over until whites go through the same shit blacks did-hundreds of years of oppression, attacks, poor treatment, and lesser status and unfair outcomes under the law. Only then, when whites have paid their penance, can there be "true" equality.

In their mind, lynching whites should be legal for as long as it was legal or accepted for whites to lynching blacks. What they will do to this confused old lady if they catch her is one example. Another is the "black rage" defense where it's becoming acceptable for a black guy to kill someone who calls them "nigger" or even just utters the word in their presence. I guarantee some court will make precedence that it's legal in the next 5 years.

Uppity wypipo will learn their place.
Collective punishment is a helluva drug.

Now that I think about it, it's maybe the most destructive drug we as a species are susceptible to.

North Carolina apparently has no statute of limitations on felonies, although I have no idea what "I told someone a 14-year-old whistled at me and a bunch of people killed him in my stead" would be classified as legally.

Criminal Conspiracy to commit murder. That is if there was evidence that she did confide with the guys to kill Till like a letter about how they should kill him or a bill supplying them with weapons.

1) There's no evidence of anything. The accounts we have coalesce into a story with multiple questions of fact but is ultimately overshadowed by the fact that he was lynched-- even though he probably could have been properly tried and even jailed based on basically nothing except a (white) woman's accusation.

3), 4) We wouldn't be able to come close to knowing this because he got murdered instead of arrested and tried, but literally nobody claimed sexual assault. At the absolute worst (in the spectrum of things from "wolf whistling" to "non-insistent waist grabbing"), he performed sexual harassment.

5) You can't talk about evidence and then make shit up on the spot. The only thing we know that Bryant and Milam said he said was that he (Till) "had sexual encounters" with white women, not that he raped them. Milam also said that he'd have gone off on a black person just for getting "close to mentioning sex with a white woman", so it wouldn't have mattered to him if he boasted of consensual sex or not.

How do the people here at once show their grief about how easy it is for a man's life to be totally extrajudicially ruined by a false sexual assault allegation... but then also do their damnedest to defend a clear-cut case of lynching done by clear racists with documented and self-admitted hair-trigger tempers on the matter, who lynched a kid because--their words-- he talked to a white woman, who were abetted by multiple communities and then had the wherewithal to talk about how they definitely did it as soon as they were acquitted like smug cowards? To the point that you're making shit up and acting all high-and-mighty about your supposed "suppressed evidence the media doesn't want you to know!", when the only evidence you bother to produce is "well, his dad raped two women!"?

Almost as bad is this "sins of the father" bullshit-- Louis Till was executed when Emmett was four, and his mother left him earlier than that because he was abusive. Are you trying to suggest that being a rapist was in Emmett's DNA? Because it's not as if he could have done much in the way of raising him.
Too much to unpack but I’ll just leave this, you can see the “evolution” of the Emmit Till story over the years in action. Here is the original Look magazine article with the supposed confession. Note this is still heavily biased against the Men’s account and as favorable as they can be towards Emmit Till.

1) it was clearly a sexual assault (yes grabbing a cashiers hand, and chasing after her after she runs away and grabbing her waist/ass will land you in jail for assault)
2) the men only went to his house to give a scare/talking to
3) he admitted to “having” (ie raping) women before they decided to kill him

Now compare how this is being reported now: Till is “unfamiliar” with souther etiquette and said “goodbye” versus “goodbye ma’am” and gave the whistle.

Nothing justifies what the men did, and they should have been punished for their actions, but the reason for the jury nullification is pretty clearly demonstrated by the blatant anti-white articles in this case. There are thousands of white Emmit Tills every year, there are thousands of white women assaulted by blacks. The norm is black violence and white victimization. The fact that this became a national story even in 1955 is rank hypocrisy
