Yeoman farmers weren't peasants, they were yeoman with the secondary occupation of farming. Husbandmen weren't peasants either because socially they were above free tenants. Peasants were allowed to own land in most of europe, they just had to work the lords land too. there was also often communal land.

I'll derail a bit to respond to this in earnest. Nah I'm a moderate when it comes to the funny migrant theory. I think it's honestly done purely in the short term interest of "Oh sweet free votes by the boat full" While the ramifications of housing troubles, wage suppression and crime and failures of early integration are purely the proles concerns.

Then the cycle revs up again when the third gens or so from the last batch are now integrated and bitching about mortgages and aren't voting in super majority alignment. So the fresh batch is brought in, rinse and repeat.
