I am officially convinced that Bob is an enemy of all humankind.
No. He is just an enemy of himself.

BTW I just found out that the butthurt moron who initiated the "political science fiction" debate, covered in the last update, is none other than the director of Dykeyear.

How does Justice Kavanaugh's right infringe on yours? Who are you to determine the limit of Justice Kavanaugh's right?

The fact that Doocy is so repetitive is because Biden's lovely Golliwog doll is stuck on a groove and refused to answer, and I doubt the doll got the info about Shinzo Abe downloaded anyway.

MovieBob would retweet that woman okay ing the fact that Brett Kavanaugh was harassed for eating with his family. He probably seems to be in better shape eating actual food that is healthy, compared to Bob’s eating habits.

One, Lovecraft is right in that New York is an affront to everything good in the world, and two, Lovecraft died in 1937, no shit his views on race are an affront to modern day standards. His life was also a basically never ending nightmare, and when he finally started to come out of his shell and shed some of his xenophobia, he fucking died.

I've read a bit of Lovecraft, and find most of it staggeringly okay. That being said, people acting like he was some turbo racist beyond the pale is just uninteresting.

Does anyone think Moviebob actually cares about brick-and-mortar stores that are mom-and-pop businesses?

Tactics. Targets.

Moviebob's response is, in my opinion, a non-sequitur. Bob's could have asked, "Has anyone seen my toenail clippers?" without sacrificing relevance in reponse to Doocy's line of questioning.

I love this tweet, the irony of Bob saying that Lovecraft "could turn a phrase" followed by one of the most incomprehensible sentences I have ever read. I think he's saying that Lovecraft's fiction suffers due to his racist undertones. Hey Bob, want to hire me as a translator? I can write your tweets while only using 25% of the characters.

To be fair, Lovecraft was quite extreme even for his time. Some of the things he came out with were wild, such as the poem "on the creation of niggers". And there are definitely a few stories where his racist beliefs are deeply apparent. Most of the time though it's just limited to his description of certain races or characters. It's never overtly malicious, he never goes out of his way to describe different races dying agonising deaths or causing all the owes in the world. It's more the perspective of somebody who believes themselves superior as he looks down upon the lessers.

Wait, that sounds familiar.

Well, the thing is, while Lovecraft's views on race are a particular point of critique for today's more enlightened, modern 'woke' critics, they really weren't that uncommon for a New Englander living in the late 19th Century/early 20th Century as Lovecraft was. You say it sounds familiar, well, I guarantee you Blob's ancestors probably thought not too differently from Lovecraft as concerns racial matters. Hell, Blob himself doesn't think too differently he just cloaks it in progressivism. In his book he complains about being sent to Catholic school by his parents with the Greek and Italian 'hoods' which, coupled together with his more recent screeds, would seem to suggest that he views Mediterraneans as inferior white people.

This is a quintessentially teenager mindset. I got an F in English? Nah who is going to ask me about Faulkner at work anyway?

Fun fact: Bob Chipman cannot distinguish between History and fiction!

The trailer is a 2003 film called Makai Tensho (Samurai Resurrection). "Based on True Events" no doubt.

Indeed, people feel very strongly about the persecution of Japanese Christians.

Of course, to Bobby the murder of Christian cannot be genocide; it is just taking out the trash.
If I recall correctly (and some obsessive weeb can correct me if I'm wrong), Japanese culture deeply frowns on talking openly about embarrassing and/or horrible moments from their history, so what the Japanese do is explore it through cinematography, manga, and anime. Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade is based on the riots that rocked Japan in the 1950s and 60s, while any suicide cult from any Japanese media can be traced back to the Heaven's Gate cult. Samurai Champloo had an episode about Christians in Japan ( and one of main characters is looking for her father, who was a Christian samurai who fought in a revolt against the Tokugawa), and so on. The references are veiled, but if you know your Japanese history, it's startling how much they put into their work. For Thinkers like us, it's proof cinema can and should be far more than Marvel and Disney schlock. For mental children like Bob, it's an invitation to skim Wikipedia before posting a lukewarm take on Twitter.

That's part of what blows my mind about Bob branding himself a critic. There are a lot of layers and nuance to a lot of media, but he simply doesn't care and prefers to, for lack of a better phrase, "turn his brain off" and only give maybe 1% of his thoughts towards what's actually being said or done. Then you'll look at, like you said, weebs, and they can carry on for hours about things like "hey, did you know that the escape scene in Gurren Lagann where Simon and Kamina try to escape on the backs of pigmoles is a reference to the boxing manga Ashita No Joe, where the title character tried escaping from prison in a similar manner? Here are the common themes of both of those sources of media, and what I think the writers of Gurren Lagann were getting at by drawing from these frames of reference." Then you look at, say, the Halo community, where they drew a lot of inference over things both said and not said in the games and will debate endlessly about glyphs carved into a wall in the streets of New Mombasa, even drawing from Dante's Inferno and piecing together which circle of Hell each perspective represents in ODST's campaign. You know what? Even Marvel has layering, like how Into The Spiderverse had Miles Morales moving at a lower framerate as Spiderman to contrast his and Peter Parker's levels of experience.

Bob calling himself a critic is an injustice to critics, because he has demonstrated time and again that he'll just handwave and dismiss anything that fails to make the lizard part of his brain get the tingly feel-good juice. Which in this case has unfortunately manifested as "people in a demographic I don't like fucking died in this movie, LMAO." He wants so hard to be like Roger Ebert, but Ebert had the ability to explain himself, take other people's perspectives into account, and most importantly, try not make enemies.

Bob's primary way of rating an art house film is, "Does it have a hot lesbian scene that I can masturbate to in it? If it does, it's a fine film that shows what an educated, erudite critic I am. If it doesn't I won't mention it unless someone brings it up." I noticed this back when Black Swan came out and Bob was praising it and specifically mentioned lesbian sex scene as the reason he thought it was so great.

Some weeb? Hey, I have an avatar of a Jojo character! He's talking about me!

If I know my Japanese culture correctly, it's less they frown on talking openly about it and more take a very clinical stance on their past atrocities. The attitude is more or less "Yes, our ancestors did that and it was bad/ you sub humans deserved it. Why do you keep bringing it up? It's over." They don't self-flagellate about it nor really deny what happened, they just aren't bothered by something that happened years and years ago. If there's any frowning, it's simply because discussing things like death and disease openly isn't polite period. Japanese are actually confused about other people being ashamed of their country's past: for them, it's just part of their history curriculum in school and every country did bad things in the past. So they're confused by the massive self-flagellation Germany gets up to about the Holocaust and the US about slavery.

Of course, their honor code is such that they'll bang on incessantly about bad shit other countries did to them.

Surprised Bob can get an erection and find it since his penis is buried under a mountain of flab.

This is like someone bragging that they did some storyboard work for Ratatouille in an attempt to impress someone else.
"Political movies" include the Kingsman films.

Reminder that Bob talked about jizzing himself in his review of Kingsman during the church scene. The scene has Colin Firth go check out a church that is an incredible exaggeration of Westboro Baptist. The Preacher calls for the death of niggers, kikes, and faggots. Shenanigans ensue, everyone starts killing each other, and Colin is the last man standing in a church full of dead bigots. Bob really, really liked this. I'd show you that segment but *LegendOfZeldaChestOpening.mp3*

WTF is with that Tyler Freshcorn niggas head?!? Dude looks like a fat baby mixed with 500 pounds of lard but has makeup on? It’s like if the Kingpin got super chubby by eating nothing but butter all day and then decided he wanted to troon out.
Tyler Freshcorn, real name Embarrassment, had a full head of hair and a beard that covered his entire neck not that long ago. He shaved himself bald a little while ago in what I assume was to do cosplay of Marvel's Kingpin as he is holding up a lego version of the character in his pfp so you're not wrong.
