The reason why that looks better than everything she draws for Lily it's because that's a comfort character for her. It's her own project, just for herself. No outside influence, no one breathing over her shoulder telling her that studying anatomy is irrelevant and more cleavage Mikay. It's what she draws when she's relaxed and happy. She calls her Veena.

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but it's always just so sad when our predictions and reads of a situation with Lily turn out to be correct. Mikaila really is being held back as an artist by Lily, who actively discourages studying things like anatomy or lighting because that doesn't matter to Lily. All Lily cares about is having a puppet that she finds sexy. Whether it's some kind of body-image thing or more of a auto-gynephilia thing I can't say for sure, but Mikaila really needs to stop listening to Lily.

Look, I was never the biggest fan of Revolutionary Girl Utena. Everything is metaphorical and symbolic for the sake of being metaphorical and symbolic without asking itself why, leading to the show being horribly obtuse and confusing at times. It has some great visuals and I like the development of the main relationship, but they often take a backseat to the show being "deep" and "meaningful" to the point where the metaphors start crashing into each other.
If Lily wants to attack Utena for anything, it should be on those merits, as well as the contempt it often seems to have for the genres it's a part of. Her old critiques of "metaphors are inferior to being the thing" and "this character/ story beat is the way it is because the creator made it that way" would be perfect here, but that would require her watching the show.
Instead, Lily (and the anon) sidestep any messaging the show could claim to have. "I don't care that the abuse is specifically framed as bad" is the most mind-boggling dodge I've ever seen. There's also an obsession with the supposed objectification of Anthy (the brown girl) because fictional brown girls need more protection than fictional white girls (or whatever Utena is supposed to be), while making physical and psychological abuse a gender thing when... isn't this just called "torture porn"? It's also made out to be a fetish thing on the part of the creator when that's nearly impossible to prove.

I can completely believe that Lily has watched (parts of?) Revolutionary Girl Utena. And that she’s just too stupid to get any of it.

I think she’d hate the messages in the last part of the show too about abusive relationships if she got that far. Fighting and killing your abuser doesn’t work. Trying to fight someone else’s abuser for them doesn’t work either, it’s just playing the hero and forcing someone else to be the victim. Also what is with this entry level reading of “show has bad thing therefore bad”? Sounds as shallow and inane as the argument going around about how Naruto sexualized its teen characters by time skipping and showing them as adults with children, therefore implying they’ve had sex.
