Making smores the normal way slows you down because generally you put in the effort to assemble and roast each one as you eat them, so you end up being more conscious about the amount you're eating and youre more likely to stop when you've had enough. Having it in dip form makes it much easier to shovel an enormous amount of chocolate and marshmallow down your gullet without a second thought.
Pets need to be corrected immediately if you see them doing something they shouldn't or else you're just reinforcing that it's okay.
