The Beauty Parlor triggers some sort of incel monkey into shitting it up multiple times a day.

The initial issue was that user accounts that haven't been approved / didn't pass email validation could use chat. The other issue I want to fix is that bans don't apply retroacctively.

You open chat -> chat creates your connection -> pulls database status -> checks permissions -> you can chat

So if your permissions change, the chat doesn't update that. If some monkey starts shitting up the place and they get banned they can still shit up chat and there's nothing that can be done about it without restarting chat. With the new software, I could have the banning system just send out an internal message that updates permissions everywhere at once, but with XenForo that's not an easy or worthwhile option.

I'd really like to avoid a hard SQL check every time you send a message, but...
