Hunter Biden's iPhone Hacked - Edit: Evidence of relationship between Hunter and his Niece

Not that it is a specific thing per say for Protonmail, but Swiss Federal agencies have long been corrupted by the US. While not all the cantons have this issue, there is extensive influence of the US via the banking pressure, bribes and other shenanigans in the three largest cities (Basel, Geneva and Zürich) and the de facto capitol of Bern, the federal Swiss politicians are basically compromised.
Given that Swiss wiretapping/Telecommunication log seizures are under the Servetsch d'infurmaziun da la Confederaziun (Federal Intelligence Services), it is not hard to come to this conclusion.
A good example is the tacit approval of the "incident" where the CIA ran an encryption company through Switzerland.
Until there's evidence of protonmail content being made public via illicit means then I believe a locked-down protonmail account is sufficient to keep glows at bay. They've been audited multiple times by third parties, a common thing in the privacy/security community, and have done above average. According to those audits, Protonmail really is a "zero-knowledge" email provider (among other things), meaning even if they wanted, they can't crack open the emails.

That said, if you don't trust them then don't use them but I don't think glows get free access to protonmail accounts.

It looks like a decrypted iphone backup from 2019. Wonder if this was just a file on the hard drive.

Proofs? As far as I know the only thing Protonmail has ever given up on government request is well.. the stuff visible to them which was famously an IP used to access an email account which led to the arrest of some climate activist or something.
Not aware of emails being compromised.

Using an app is the first way this guy is fucked. If you're dealing with a state security apparatus, you never, ever, use the private key without an airgap.

There's good reason to be cautious of ANY email service provider, but the Crypto AG case doesn't directly pertain to Proton.
They use client side encryption and the algos are open source and audited.
I don't know of any cases where the contents of email messages were decrypted by glowies (or any other malevolent actor), and in cases where they have been given legally-binding orders, the most they have been able to turn over is peripheral data like log-in dates or IP addresses.
I don't see them as being more suspect than any other email provider out there. In fact, they are probably far less suspect than most.

A list of what? People not invited to the WH Christmas party?

It's my opinion this leak is deliberate. It's no secret Biden is a huge disaster and a liability to Democrats.
But will they convince Congress to impeach and replace with heels up Harris? With the elections so close I fail to see how they get 2/3rds majority in both houses.

The most striking thing so far is, if the leaks are real Hunter calling Biden a pedo. If your dad was a piece of shit like that, of course you would grow up to be like this. You'd do everything you could to milk your father and his connections dry, because you've been raised into a good little psychopath. You have no love for the man, but you understand the power he possesses and want some of that for yourself.

My $.02 is that this is data obtained from a decrypted backup on the *original* hard drive, not the shit that we got via the laptop repair store.

Hunter would be under high suspicion of acting on behalf of US intelligence when traveling abroad. He would have been watched/followed everywhere he went in the world

My opinion is that this file was cracked by a state level actor, and analyzed to see if they could find any hint that he'd met or come in contact with a mole, or someone connected to a mole.

After they got whatever they could, they horse traded the data. Whoever they horse traded it with ultimately sold it to someone who used it to try to get a payment from a gossip rag (as if, after what happened with the journal laptop), or blackmail payment.

I was under the impression Jack Maxey was saying publicly that the 450GB was from a forensic analysis of the repair store hard drive done in Switzerland.
If he really did get this from a foreign intel agency separately from the repair store laptop, why would he undersell the value of what he potentially has?
