In a way I think it stems from a spiral of resentment . I just had a thought, and bear with me. Something in that made me completely change my attitude towards towards simps.

There are certain unhealthy things us humans are irrationally susceptible to. Refined sugar, alcohol, drugs, a fascination with gore, fear of spiders, whatever. It's just the way we were made and it served a survival purpose. It largely no longer does. This shit short-circuits our forebrain.
