Got around to watching the first wave of PC Gen2 debuts. Shiina was the only one who made any real impression but they all seem fine. I'm sure they'll do well.

That said... I really can't bring myself to care too much about any of them. Between HoloEN and PC gen1 I feel like a new vtuber would have to do something really special to grab my attention and get me to watch them regularly... and I don't really know what that 'something' could be.

I'm going to apply for the next Phase Connect gen and just fill every single question with League-related answers for shits n giggles.

Well Remi is working with EU times so that's for sure cause her streams will be around 5pm in Europe while Japan 12am and US ranging from 9am to 11am. I believe Hime the princess will be EU oriented girl too cause she kind of alluded to that in her channel on the cord. The others I don't know too much, cause Panko is taking suggestions what time would be best. Overall, I assume Gen 2 isn't North America oriented with live viewing times and going for EU and SEA. How that will play? I don't know, I feel like the gen 2 viewer on live streams will go down a little after initial debut boost, and have to wait to see how these wacky hours will play with people seeing them live or waiting for the VOD due to time constraints. if that makes sense?

It would be interesting to see how Phase goes with this new-gen and how a US/Canada company markets their non-US/Canada talents which I feel is the biggest problem they currently have. I like Michiru, Nasa and Iori but their timeslots are a problem plus the first two not being fluent in english act as a barrier.

A long while ago I was curious what those channels were all about on youtube, essentially what "topic" channels are is connected to Youtube's Content ID for music, like if you submit music to youtube it goes up on a "topic" channel as a basis for comparison to catch other videos playing that music. While also paying out any ad revenue on the "topic" channel to the proper artist.

Might have some minor details there off but that's the basic gist of it. if it's a topic channel responsible for this "leak" it's likely that the songs were put up somewhere but privated, and submited to content ID to be ready for release. And then the topic channel updated with the new songs as a result.

It fucks up everything it touches because of how it functions.

It doesn't wait for the premiere to start pulling content into its algorithm. So, if you schedule a song for premiere any day other than the same day it's supposed to release, Topics will say 'Oh, this song is due to come out today, and it is now 'today', so let's do that!' as soon as Japan/AUS timezones hit midnight.

Every NijiEN song has leaked due to this, and the company did not open up the Nornis premiere until only 3 hours before it was time.

I have no granular knowledge about what anyone is talking about Re:IRyS and Cover leaking announcements so I'll just answer you in a vacuum.

Airi and Shiina had really great debuts, but I am quite certain that in one years time Remilia is going to be watching her debut and cringing hard at her attempt to imitate LA+ just as Pippa did. A Covid debut is a real fucking tough break for her so I'm reserving actual judgement.

The impression I get is that Remilia is discovering new things and maybe experiencing more freedom then they had before. I would expect both the coomerbait and the Dom stuff to taper off pretty soon after she's had some fun with it.
If not.... I don't know what the plan is because youtube/twitch will only tolerate so much of this content.

I mean plenty have changed artists I think the question here would be "why would they" in this case.

Most if not all issues with redjuice are just assumptions on the part of fan's with no desire for an artist changeover being expressed by the actual parties involved. All we've gotten is IRyS talking about asking for some design tweaks and then fans filling in the blanks to say that means she's unhappy with the artist altogether and he doesn't care about her.

Comparatively, Flare gets mega triggered if called a dark elf, which isn't an unusual thing for people to assume her to be given Lack-papa's design of her being a dark skinned Elf. and she asked for a redesign of her base model because she didn't like the impression it gave of her thinking it seemed too much like a "cool type" to suit her.

But none of that meant she was unhappy with Lack as her artist.

There is actually precedence for this, yeah. Suisei, Miko, Sora, AZKi all have had multiple artists. Haachama's "Haachama" outfit was done by another artist other than her original one. Okayu's second and third outfits were done by a different artist.

That being said, I don't actually think Redjuice is the real issue. I just don't like his art style for vtubers. It just does really not mesh well with the rest of HL and is way too complicated. Plus, it doesn't explain her lack of 3D, since he would have nothing to do with the creation of her model (I would think anyway). But really it would come down to if IRyS would ever actually express the frustrations over her model directly to Cover. She isn't like Kiara, where she would come out on-stream and say what she didn't like about her model.

With all the anxiety that PC Gen 1 feels about Gen 2 I often wonder what did the first generation of Hololive and Nijisanji feel about the second generation of their respective company's vtubers. And what do they do that allieviate those anxiety knowing they cannot express them in streams.

I imagine Sora and Roboco felt relief that the company wasn't going bankrupt. Hololive brought in Fubuki, Aki, Mel, Matsuri, Haato and Chris. Maybe they were jealous of FBK when she took the reins of popularity but I don't think so.
