General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Amiya is having a laugh at the expense of Web 1.0

A vtuber building web sites? You have my attention.

Put one of these on there!

The problem came with Gen 3 and Gen 4. Aki explains that since Gen 3, Hololive's popularity was already big and the barrier for entry was high. it also didnt help that the debuts were all somewhat together and each gen started debuting as a group.
Gen 3 isn't exactly a powerhouse at the start.
They didn't really struggle as much as miko or sora at the start but they didn't really blow up either.

Airi and Shiina had really great debuts, but I am quite certain that in one years time Remilia is going to be watching her debut and cringing hard at her attempt to imitate LA+ just as Pippa did. A Covid debut is a real fucking tough break for her so I'm reserving actual judgement.

As for Pippa's doomposting I hope she remembers that she and the rest of Gen 1 are the reason that there is even a Gen 2 in the first place. They put in the work so that Phase-Connect was able to grow into a respectable small Corpo. If Fishman does not completely fuck up then the first generation will be held in the same regard as Hololive's Gen 0 is.

All Pippa needs now is a Miko moment. Come on Pippa I know you're lurking. For the good of the company, take the plunge and say the gamer words.

Maybe but there does seem to be a managerial tone change when it comes to them. That alone is enough to make the older generations feel anxiety.

Lia said something interesting yesterday which I forgot to include. She was talking about the new gen and she mentioned that she barely knows Panko because of the timezone. Panko would be sleeping when Lia would be awake and the other way around. So is Panko from JP or Indonesia?

Going back to Fishman wanting to diversify the time zones a bit, I would assume that we would get some SEA people.

Are you retards seriously discussing the fictional ages of fictional characters?
Just don't fucking post questionable art of a character if they appear to be young - regardless of your opinion on the matter - so that the thread doesn't get nuked. It's not rocket science.
I swear you're all taking Fishman's bait.

Opinion on PC gen 2: Didn't watch yet, had to touch grass.

Well Remi is working with EU times so that's for sure cause her streams will be around 5pm in Europe while Japan 12am and US ranging from 9am to 11am. I believe Hime the princess will be EU oriented girl too cause she kind of alluded to that in her channel on the cord. The others I don't know too much, cause Panko is taking suggestions what time would be best. Overall, I assume Gen 2 isn't North America oriented with live viewing times and going for EU and SEA. How that will play? I don't know, I feel like the gen 2 viewer on live streams will go down a little after initial debut boost, and have to wait to see how these wacky hours will play with people seeing them live or waiting for the VOD due to time constraints. if that makes sense?

Can we stop with the loli-posting? Definitely-an-adult IRyS is having her anniversary later today!

IRyS is the one who got me into vtubers. I was spazzing out over FF14 at the time, playing and watching videos about it constantly. I knew the general concept of vtubers but was never interested in them. But IRyS did a FF14 stream and it showed up in my recommended list, I thought her design looked more interesting than 'Generic Anime Girl #143', so I watched the stream and enjoyed it. Ever since then my youtube algorithm was infested but I didn't really watch anything else. Then an IRyS karaoke stream showed up, and I wondered "Hmm, I wonder how she sings?", and that was the end of me.

TLDR; I hope the merch is not expensive because I have no willpower.

My only issue is how much we have to tiptoe around posting pictures of a vtuber.
One would assume the no thirsting rule would be in effect if any retard tried to stir the pot
It ends up being a pretty trivial thing when 99.99% of discussion can and does go on without needing to post pictures of the chuuba. If Jersh just doesn't want those images on the site whatsoever there's not much sense in folks trying to play chicken with him over it with the thread's existence on the line. By the sounds of his explanations it's not even a thirstposting thing so much as just a "I don't want this here or the people it would attract"

At this point, just posting them from the shoulders up would suffice in almost every concievable circumstance.

Seamstress doing a stepped zoom-in on her face for comedic effect, any exploitable facial expressions, etc.

That's usually where the meat of things are.
