Newsom/Pritzker is going to be the most terrifying ticket imaginable. Not because it's strong, but the implications of those two holding office are devastating, to say the least.

For fuck's sake, Joe Biden literally got his start campaigning on what was pretty much a "return to segregation" platform back in the late 60's and early 70's.

Joe Biden also was one of the most crucial supporters of the Hyde Amendment and the 1994 Crime Bill that the whole controversy about "super-predators" was tied into.

I don't want to sound like one of those "muh Democrats are the real racists" Ben Shapiro/Dinesh D'Souza asshats but with Biden it's kind of true.

If Joe Biden of all people could get away with all the shit from back in his past in Current Year, Newsom will have it way easier with the progressives and woke leftists in 2024.

You'd be surprised. You can find a lot of straight up illegal shit on any sort of site if you just actually look for it. Most of the user content sites rely on reporting to remove things, and the kinds of people searching for that shit won't report the thing they find. Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook have problems with it too, much less full on adult content sites.

I don't think the Democrats as an institution will push anyone. Or more accurately, I don't expect them to create an organized push. They are too split and fractured. Newsom's stuff is entirely Newsom himself doing it. An opportunist seeing that a fractured Democrat Party means he now has a chance when he'd normally be told to sit down and shut up. He will not be the only one.

I think it's going to be a more divided version of the 2008 Republican primary, where the party already kind of assumes they're fucked in the general, so everyone mostly runs as a promo campaign for the next primary, and the victory is ultimately a consolation prize for a party veteran who got screwed over in the last nomination contest.

So hey, maybe Bernie Sanders will finally be the nominee!

As much as I've railed on his dumb gaffes, history of grifting, and the terrible policies he's putting his pen to, I thought this campaign was glorified elder abuse even during the primary and I'm only more bothered by it now.

He should've been allowed to retire with dignity after losing his only worthwhile son to brain cancer, instead of being publicly embarrassed as the obvious figurehead for a party that cannot govern and is paralyzed by inaction due to internal conflict and corruption.

I think that speaks more about Jill than it does the DNC. I expect the DNC to be cut throat. I don't expect the wife of an elderly man to put her husband in that situation, especially knowing the number of skeletons in that family's closet. She makes me sick.
