By that logic Aqua & Ayame should be out at this moment.
We at least know Ayame and Aqua are doing stuff for Cover when their not streaming (Ayame is basically available for any Hologra they want and Aqua has gone off the record to say she's doing idol reps. Both of them also streamed a lot more than Sana did for their first year in Hololive. Sana has been out of commission for half of her entire first year.

Since a couple of people asked:
  • Ina had been streaming for an hour and was still streaming at the time of Sana's announcement. But she ended stream shortly after.
  • Ame was scheduled to start a stream at the same time, but delayed and started about 3 minutes before the end of Sana's stream. However, she also tweeted about Minecraft issues an hour before.
Seems like even if the talents knew beforehand, the timing of the announcement going out might have been a bit of a blindside. Smells a bit like JP bureaucracy, the announcement is going on Twitter at [x time] so she had to stream to get ahead of it.

The phrasing of Cover's announcement itself certainly points to it being ultimately Sana's decision. At worst an ultimatum based on not meeting the contract, but still one she could have complied with if she chose to prioritize Hololive obligations over others.
Makes me wonder... how much fucking money does gacha art make?

But overall seems like a pretty fair and mutual split. The extended fan mail period, and what they're doing with her merch (allowing refunds, but also reopening to allow new orders) seem pretty reasonable to me as well.

Has there been a graduation yet where the vtuber just feels fulfilled/finished their development? So far Aloe was harrassed out, Coco couldn't deal with all the restrictions put on her, Rushia was nuked, and Sana is leaving presumably due to her poor schedule management. Has anyone in Stars or Niji graduated just because they felt they did everything they could do and want to move on?

I doubt it was as simple or as far-fetched as some people insinuate but it's neither a surprise nor i think it will make that much of an impact, sure, it's sad and all, but Sana was the smallest member and didn't contribute that much to anything nor had very interesting dynamics with other members, neither is her story that interesting.

She isn't like Aloe, who was like a slap in the face for most of the western audience as they witnessed their first graduation, or Coco who's career burned down around her for months before finally going out in a blaze of glory that will never be forgotten, or even Rushia, who caused one of the biggest dramafests in the community and was then unceremoniously pruned from the lineup without even saying goodbye.

Sana to me is just unremarkable in all aspects, a quiet career and a quiet graduation, to be remembered only by the few fans she ever managed to get.
