General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I do hope they keep the channel up so I can watch the old vods, I never got to watch much of her streams thanks to timing and work.
I'm more bummed than I expected to be upon first hearing the news.
My best friend I got into the hole with loved Coco and Rushia and loved Aloe on her debut, this is my karmic balance.
Announcement clarifies she's getting the Coco treatment, which might be how they treat normal graduations. The only other three were very different situations.

Im willing to give cover the benefit of the doubt and say sana did actually decide to leave, i doubt there's some massive fuckery here, gacha art probably pays the same as 5 streams combined.

This wont cause EN to start bleeding members, the only change i really perceive is that IRYS may start working alot closer with gen 2 now that they are down a member , but irys was already pretty much in council anyways so not a massive change.

They didn't say anything about taking her channel down. Hopefully that is a good sign and she gets OG status, like Coco.

Anyway, this is making me way more depressed than I expected it would. I'm gonna take a break from chuubas for at least the night. I'll leave you all with her roommate's youtube, which will hopefully become active again, eventually.

With the whole IRYS redsign coming out im assuming that she'll just slot into the council.

Has there been a graduation yet where the vtuber just feels fulfilled/finished their development? So far Aloe was harrassed out, Coco couldn't deal with all the restrictions put on her, Rushia was nuked, and Sana is leaving presumably due to her poor schedule management. Has anyone in Stars or Niji graduated just because they felt they did everything they could do and want to move on?
Kagami Kira from Holostars graduated iirc from both mental and physical health issues.

edit: He's has the [OG] tag like Coco so the graduation was peaceful: https://holostars.hololivepro.com/en/talent?gp=og

I doubt it was as simple or as far-fetched as some people insinuate but it's neither a surprise nor i think it will make that much of an impact, sure, it's sad and all, but Sana was the smallest member and didn't contribute that much to anything nor had very interesting dynamics with other members, neither is her story that interesting.

She isn't like Aloe, who was like a slap in the face for most of the western audience as they witnessed their first graduation, or Coco who's career burned down around her for months before finally going out in a blaze of glory that will never be forgotten, or even Rushia, who caused one of the biggest dramafests in the community and was then unceremoniously pruned from the lineup without even saying goodbye.

Sana to me is just unremarkable in all aspects, a quiet career and a quiet graduation, to be remembered only by the few fans she ever managed to get.
Definitely this. To the other EN girls, at least the ones who knew her even mildly, it's probably sad and depressing. Especially Ina.

But the fans? Most people are just shrugging their shoulders. "Ah, that's sad. Oh well, nothing to do about it." and moving on. Unless some big drama gets revealed, I doubt Sana will even be brought up again after three months.

I hope Hololive learns from this too. Nothing against Sana herself (she seems like a very sweet girl) but I never thought she added anything of value to VTubing. The fact that so many people only now are finding out what amazing skill she has as an artist says enough. The rrat that she was hired mostly because she's Ina's friend, and she hid her artist powerlevel because she didn't want to compete with her friend now seems totally plausible.

If we're going to talk about Sana's numbers, there's the entire branch of Holostars with less subscribers/views that isn't axed.
I enjoyed her Tanabata stream with Ina, and she showed up to talk with Kiara when Kiara opened Bae's Australian snackbox. This announcement seems so sudden.

Genshin Impact was trending because of a trailer less than a day ago, so yet again, I blame this on the Chinese.

I feel like some of them are really just added to fill in a quota rather than to innovate the scene
