Yeah Watson was like a lottery win for Cover. I'm not sure why she made the jump to vtubing either but am glad as shit she did, the autism gremlin is the workhorse of Holo EN by far. I just dread the inevitable day she moves on because Ame is in a class of her own, she'd be hard to replace.
She was always a VTuber though. One of the founding members of Western VTubers and was then still one of the most innovative. Made models for everyone to use for the fun of it, had multiple models just to fuck around. She wasn't really successful though. Content creators like her breed were barely recognized or appreciated until Melody blew up.
Hololive since 2021 has considered itself an Entertainment Agency instead of a straight Idol Agency since than. Their still idol related though and every branch EN, ID, Holostars, even CN when they were still around were still expected to perform onstage. If EN wasn't required to perform than Ame certainly wouldn't have gotten onstage for HoloFes that's for sure.

But, I'm going to be honest, I don't think Sana was all-in for everything that comes with the Holo streaming platform. Unfortunately, a lot of the games that Holos get pushed to play didn't appeal to her, and she was always fervent about doing things for fun not numbers. She was a positive galaxy beam, but also the gen punching bag because of her odd streaming hours, game choices, and overall retaining numbers (which is stupid but something that can't be ignored).
