Let's be real if I call the thread the BDS thread a bunch of users would be throwing spaghetti against the wall, and about half of them would have a point.
It's absolutely a US politics general. We have people discussing gubernatorial races and one or the other party's chances all the time.
You must have missed the part where the last guy had it subtitled as that for 6 months. There was a bit of spaghetti throwing for the first day though.

Off topic, but I’m kind of 50-50 on wanting this thread to be in the Mass Debates General thread on this site. But I understand why it’s still on A&N.

Biden Enslavement Syndrome does not have the sting that anyone would want. Not even the Biden Derangement Syndrome comes close, since it’s just former Trump voters disguising themselves as Democrat voters using bait to talk about the obvious.
Trump was derided for "being disrespectful in how he fed koi" and "telling people to inject bleach"
Meanwhile Biden is commended for gas going down 20 cents while you're still paying more than double what you did at any point between 2015-2021, while also not being Biden's fault.

Yeah, its hard to say someone is irrationally upset when there are rational reasons for it.

Watch out for the inflation report tomorrow. The Administration is already sending out their firemen to control and spin the story.

Saw this earlier, especially Deese's remarks about the - lol, lmao even - 'stale' gas prices being responsible. The amount of preemptive noise on it heavily suggests it's going to be double digits bad.

And just think, all in time for Biden to get cucked by the Saudis :story:

Had they taken DC, they could have forced Lincoln to recognize the Confederacy as an independent state. They didn't need to occupy the North, but they then insisted on a defensive campaign and lost by attrition.
Lincoln would have told them to fuck off and then what do they do, kill him and make him a martyr? Things were so messed up at that point in time in the USA the 1860 election was a four-way campaign like you'd see in Europe. There was also an immense amount of support for the war in various states that would have seen the war continue even in a limited scale if D.C. had been taken, unless you think all those state-funded regiments from Ohio and elsewhere would have called it a day.

This is emblematic of just why the Democrats prior strategies are coming to a head and backfiring. They have long been running on a strategy of promising individual groups what they specifically want while running effectively on the charisma of their candidate to keep it together. And this worked... for a time. Clinton and Obama could work with it because they had the charisma and so when they inevitably failed to make good on their grab-bag of promises they weren't held to account and voters had been transitioned on board from "I am voting for this one issue" onto I am part of the cult of Clinton/Obama".

The problem was that this strategy was always doomed to eventually fail. And once it fails, it becomes a lot harder to use in the future. The strategy relies upon a built in trust with Democrats. It requires nobody to really ever stop and think about the broken promises. The process is Promises > Election > Shift to individual worship > Ignore broken promises.

But as soon as there is even one incident of failing to complete the process, it vastly reduces the ability to bring people on board with promises again. Biden has successfully ruined the Democrats entire primary political strategy.
When I was in the activist core, the high turnover rate was part of the whole thing. People would get burnt out at the Dems steadfastly doing basically.... Fucking anything but what their constituents wanted, even if it was something fucking effortless and zero-impact to do. Even trying to negotiate with the Neocons wasn't as much of a damn struggle as trying to get an establishment Dem on-board. The belief seemed to be, among the higher-ups, that a rotating spree of neophytes would keep the machine thrumming along, but that fucking died in 2008.

This has been coming a long time, and I don't know a single Democrat I've ever worked with who isn't celebrating it now. Get fucked, DNC.

Had they taken DC, they could have forced Lincoln to recognize the Confederacy as an independent state. They didn't need to occupy the North, but they then insisted on a defensive campaign and lost by attrition.
That choice was effectively made for the Confederates after the First Battle of Bull Run. While the Confederates won the battle, and did so convincingly, the logistical state of the Army was bad enough that a march on D.C. wasn't feasible. Yet all this spooked Lincoln enough that he always kept a huge force around D.C. and very quickly made D.C. one of the most heavily fortified places on the planet.

Put simply, the Confederates really didn't have an option of ending the war quickly, but if they did actually manage to take D.C. then it probably would have meant an outright Confederate victory. If simply because, if they were strong enough to force the Capital, then they could steamroll where-ever they wanted.

All that said, a strategy of defensive attrition probably would have worked better if they didn't make John B. Hood Commander of the Army of Tennessee.

Or it would have broken organized resistance. McClellan was never that keen on Lincoln and had Lincoln died after the Battle of Bull Run, the Union would have dithered on whether to continue the war. Remember that the war was not actually popular in the North and required the president to crack down on civil liberties to maintain morale. The Union doesn't get good until 2 to 3 years into the war when the cost of attrition favors them. Also, Lincoln would not have been a martyr in 1861 due to the controversial election itself. If it was a war on Northern soil early on, the cost of fighting it would have made the populace, who were already stunned by a shocking loss, to wonder if it was worth conquering the South.

Instead, the Confederacy failed to press their advantage and never had that opportunity again.

Biden gets an earful in the Oval from Mexican President López Obrador

President Biden listens to remarks from Mexico's Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In his long career as a U.S. senator, Joe Biden has sat through his share of lengthy speeches.

But sitting in the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Biden seemed a bit out of practice. During a meeting with Mexico's Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Biden at turns smirked, grimaced, fidgeted, and took notes as the Mexican president launched into remarks that went on for more than half an hour.

Some 20 minutes into his remarks, López Obrador said he was getting ready to conclude. Biden broke into a big grin and laughed.

Speaking through an interpreter, the populist leader touched on everything from Franklin D. Roosevelt's migrant policies, to the relative costs of American and Mexican gasoline, to lithium mining, and the need for broader, more predictable migration policies.

Biden made a point to tell his counterpart that he agreed with many of López Obrador's broad points, that "our nations share close ties, family, and friendship." Biden said policy differences between the two were often exaggerated by "overhyped headlines."

President Biden's prepared remarks lasted about 10 minutes.

Biden also touted cooperation between the two nations on targeting drugs — specifically fentanyl — as well as on tackling the root causes that lead people to migrate from Central and South America to Mexico and the United States

But López Obrador's visit to the White House came immediately on the heels of the Mexican president's boycott of the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles last month. López Obrador refused to attend the U.S.-hosted conference because the Biden administration did not invite authoritarian governments of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. That decision – and the White House's frantic scramble to reverse it – cast a shadow over much of the summit.

And while not overtly hostile, some of López Obrador's comments to Biden touched on politically embarrassing topics, like the high price of gasoline in the United States.

"While we're waiting for prices or gasoline to go down in the United States," López Obrador said at one point, "we have decided that it was necessary for us to allow Americans who live close to the border ... to go and get their gasoline on the Mexican side at lower prices."

López Obrador's administration recently began subsidizing gasoline prices.

The Mexican president ended his remarks with a call for more, and more formalized, migration policies. "It is indispensable for us to regularize and give certainty to migrants that for years have lived and worked in a very honest manner," he said.

"I know that your adversaries the conservatives are going to be screaming all over the place," López Obrador added, deploying phrasing he often uses to describe critics of his administration. "Even to the heaven they're going to be yelling."

Indeed, Republicans have seized on high numbers of migrants trying to cross the U.S. border as they criticize Biden's policies.

"We need to work closer together," Biden said after López Obrador concluded. "The thrust of what you're saying, I agree with."

The two leaders continued meeting behind closed doors after their 45 minutes in front of reporters.

More diplomacy and meetings await Biden later this week: Late Tuesday, he leaves for a trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia.

While this beaner is absolutely dunking on Joe, even Biden's mushy head knows those words are empty posturing.
All he has to do is snap his fingers and the glowniggers can remind Obrador who's really in charge... and that he better start sending castizo children instead of the shitskin indigenous looking animals.

Also, I'd wish they'd stop calling AMLO a populist. He's not.
He's been in (and then kicked out of) nearly every major political party Mexico has, and only won the moment he kissed the ring of ex-president Salinas de Gortari, who kinda still runs Mexico in the shadows with his connections in the military, finance, and telecommunications. AMLO is pretty much a sock puppet who just wanted to be president so he could be immortalized as one.
I'll never forget when he cried foul in the 2006 elections and went so far as to rally up his sheep and stage a protest in the capital square next to parliament that lasted 7 months, all the while declaring himself the legitimate president and making a complete assclown of himself for years.
There's a popular twitter account in the vein of Defiant Ls that's called Obrador vs Obrador. The guy is not a populist. He's popular with a certain demographic the same way the DNC is popular with niggers. It's not genuine love.

So are actual Americans fucked when it comes to the job market? Seems like no matter what the position is, non-americans have taken over
  • Mexicans - Manual Labor
  • Indians (street shitters) - Computer/Tech industry
  • That one time Somalian refugees were getting hired to replace the nurses/doctors they fired
That's just off the top of my head
The only role and benefit Americans have is to be the taxpayers that fund your betters and their pet aliens.
We serve no other purpose. No health care, no job safety, no general safety if you share heritage in this country that dates back further than 3 generations, you get nothing.

Eh, the anti-war camp was really strong. The Copperheads were very close to taking control of the Democratic Party in the North, and their support always grew after a series of Union defeats in battle. If D.C. had been taken, it's hard to overstate how bad the demoralization would have gotten, and that's something Lee well understood and why he backed taking the fight to the North while support for the war was weak. Luckily Lincoln found the right generals eventually and was able to use their wins to better justify his war aims, thus making the need for a peace party redundant and assuring his reelection.

I'm increasingly alarmed at how much other world leaders are willing to tell the emperor he's naked.
France, then Germany, now Mexico. He's getting reamed by most of our allies already. Imagine how much disrespect he's gonna get after the midterms put his party out of power.
STFU Trump lover! The emperor is not naked! Or if he is, you're just a homophobic body shamer! #Biden2024 #TuckFrump #BodyPositive #OrangeManBad

Every prospective candidate is better than Hillary. AOC is a better nominee than Hillary.
Because none of them, including the dementia patient posting historically low approval ratings, has the track record of being defeated already by Trump in an election (in the general populace's consensus, don't whine at me about ballot stuffing in 2020 plz)
AOC would be worse in that she's a true believer zealot plus has repeatedly shown signs of being a Nicolae Ceaușescu fangirls and if you know the history of Romania, Romania was the worst of all of the Eastern block countries under communist control and that Nicolae Ceaușescu and his wife ended up being murdered in violent fashion by his own people in the end.

Not only are beaners driving the niggers out of their cities in the south, they're driving them out of the thread too!
Send some Latinas my way plz, I need to practice my Espanol

Speaking of fashion, her $60,000+ Tax The Rich dress is an example of the kinds of tackiness that Nicolae Ceaușescu and especially his wife would have on display on a regular basis. Wouldn't surprise me if she was a fan of him let alone masturbated to him and other communist dictators hoping to be like them someday.

This sounds kinda familiar..

I kinda wish Trump had gone that far. If nothing else for the keks to be had.
But then again, he'd need support from the GOP.
The PRD had Obrador's back to the point that they were genuinely trying to prevent then-president-elect Felipe Calderon to take oath of office, even having PRD coming to physical blows with PAN senators inside the senate.
Though in the end Calderon got to say his oath in a rushed version as PRD politicians coped impotently and used cheap whistles to drown him out. It was fucking hilarious.
That high pitched ring is not shitty audio; it's the whistles and jeers meant to distract Calderon or at the very least make it so he can't be heard.
Those cheers from those on his side are not because he was so fucking beloved (Calderon is a meme in Mexico at this point and akin to Bush Jr in that he spent a fuckton of money and lives on a pointless war with the cartels [pointless because the military and political elite were deep in business with the cartels at that point and was being purposely useless, knowing full well they weren't about to let a payday go to waste], and today he's known best for being a drunkard cuck), it's just the conservatives rubbing it in the DemSoc's faces; "Your cheap toys and pathetic blows didn't do shit! Seethe beaner, seethe!"

Edit: Actually the more I think about it, taco bureaucrats do love throwing hands.
