The nerds arguing on forums in the 90's seem very normal compared to your average ResetERA poster today. I don't recall anyone having meltdowns over anime titties back then. You were also allowed to disagree with people and talk about pretty much anything you wanted. In fact, back then people online were very anti-censorship and you had to be a legitimate troll or total dickhead to get permabanned, and even then you would get many warnings and temporary bans before that.

Why is hating attractive women in videogames and hating any form of heterosexuality in videogames the new thing for the ResetERA types? I noticed on ResetERA, Reddit, and the existing gaming forums they have this weird crusade against pretty female characters in games. They also go insane if someone uses the word "female" but for some reason the same exact people constantly use the word "male". I've also noticed when anyone mentions the fact that female characters are becoming uglier and even censored in western versions of games these people have meltdowns and insist this isn't true and start mocking and dogpiling whoever said that.

I mean, if PlanetSmasher hates Bayonetta so much because she's too sexy for him to handle can't he just play one of the many soy Sony approved games that feature masculine women kicking the shit out of "straight white males" or whatever? I just can't wrap my head around men who dislike attractive women of all things.

Most (if not all) of the posters in the "sexualized characters" thread - which is on its third OT and hundreds of pages long, which tells you all you need to know about this so-called "gaming" forum - are either MtF trans who will never pass for a women, so they're jealous of any representation of traditional female beauty/sexuality, or they're male "feminists" who are overcompensating to absolve themselves of the hoards of degenerate porn they wack off to on a daily basis.

Both groups need to fuck off, go play the lame walking simulators they like - if they even play games at all - and leave the hobby to the sane ones out there that can see a bare thigh and not have an aneurysm.

I don't know that it's necessarily a "new" thing for them, but it has definitely gotten worse over the past few years. It's a combination of several things:

Feminists have put it into people's heads that being attractive for man is wrong. Therefore, things that men find attractive must be removed--Women must have small breasts, fat waists, no skin can be showing, the ugly side-shave haircut, and maybe even unshaved legs and armpits. Stuff like that says, "I'm not cooperating with the patriarchy!"

They've actually made the act of a man finding a woman attractive to be evil. If a man ever looks at a woman and likes what he sees, he's turned that woman into an OBJECT! This doesn't apply when the person doing the lusting is a woman or gay man.

At the same time, the Fat Acceptance people are trying to make us consider ALL bodies beautiful. The weird side effect is that they're going out of their way to scorn traditionally beatiful people.

They think an attractive video game character will make fat and unattractive people feel bad, and will raise men's expectations for beauty to a point regular women can't reach. This despite the ample evidence that it is women who have the higher standards for beauty and status when choosing their men.

TL;DR - Feminists scrambled people's brains and are trying to spite heterosexual men while making beauty standards low or nonexistent for women.

PlanetSmasher likes old-school Japanese games. Sony trash may have his preferred aesthetic (ugly cat moms and women who pass for transgenders), but they are mostly walking simulators or wannabe Ubisoft open world games.

What he really wants is FF VII except Tifa is a plus-sized model, Aeris is a middle-aged diversity consultant, and Sephroth is Cloud’s one true love. That’s the only game that could bring joy to his black heart (he’s still find something to hate about it).
