Since I'm really not familiar nor can I relate to all the PC posting at all: any recos for the new gen and why? Also, why is the yabbit the thread vtuber or something, and what are reasons as to why I should watch/follow her?
It's still too early to tell about gen 2. All debuts were pretty decent to amazing. We're gonna need another few months for them to settle into their characters and community. I think it took about 3 months for almost all of PC gen 1 to hit their stride. Half of them seem to be doing a series so that might be an easy way to get used to them.

On a side note, I might be in the minority but I don't mind Remilia's voice. I can see why child tone is off putting to some but I just see it as part of the character. I mean Himemori Luna has been playing a just above toddler character for years and she's great. Granted there's probably a sea of chuubas who've tried to baby babble their way into greatness but had no talent. I choose to trust the management of PC with their choices, even if Fishman does things like sell vtuber themed coffee...which still confuses me. Once Remi finds her rhythm I think we'll have a very fun chuuni streamer.
As for Pippa, a few months after her debut she directly referenced, named the farms, and shouted out "JOSHUA MOON PLEASE COLAB WITH ME" when doing a stream on CWC. She was probably on our radar before hand but I think that cemented her here. One of her mods was a forum member until said member got tragically yeeted after the Guntening. Why should you watch her? If you can dig a terminally online woman who is creative, good with interacting with chat, and prone entertaining outbursts then I think you can get behind her. Unironically I think her best stream was the restaurant ranking one, which I cannot find for some reason and I may have to hit up
@Godzilla1984 to see if there's an archive. It was comfy, fun and a lot of good interaction. Her best colab streams were either the vermantide with Lumi that was maybe 2 hours of game play followed by 4 hours of therapy and lore of Lumi swindling people on tumblr
or the watch along with sweetest sheep, Lisa.
If you find enjoyment in those you'll enjoy the yabbit.
Personally, what won me over with her was not the lolcow coverage or a specific game, or screaming about conspiracies. It was a quiet moment in a minecraft stream someone linked to me. She was talking about being pissed off, maybe even disgusted, at a D&D session where the people hosting the game were essentially neglecting their children to play pretend. There was a little more to the situation but I don't fully remember it and do not know which stream it was from. I've joked a lot about fixing her and parasocial type stuff, sorry to break keyfabe, but there's a lot about Pippa and her story that resonates with me. It's the primary reason why I've cast my lot with Phase Connect and will ride this into the ground or see Fishman on the streaming throne.
