As someone who has dabbled in weeb shit, personally find slice of life to be enjoyably calm shit to watch. When most anime tends to be ludicrously over the top that disbelief has to be ejected into the stratosphere, it's nice to see Japanese media that is often just about people doing normal people things.

Sometimes there's fantastical bullshit that leads to a slice of life, like aliens or magic or some shit, but the core of the narrative is mundane life. I can get behind that.
