Well, in my opinion, Cynthia just a very emotionally repressed person who genuinely doesn't know what love is. When Woggie makes her feel funny "down there", she just doesn't connect the dots. Same with her thinking that everbody sees Wogglebug as perfect and charming. Obviously she loves him and thinks Wogglebug is adorable, but since she is retarted and doesn't understand how hormones work, she thinks other people feel the same towards Wogglebug.
I feel this has something to do with her fundie mother. Maybe she never had "the talk" and was yelled at for showing curiousity about "adult" stuff. That, or she was raped by a man in a cockroach suit.

He has a faggot friend Frogman who hangs out with him in some weird locations. He even has his own faghag Silvya.
But what if I say that Wogglebug is not, in fact, a raging homosexual, but rather a pedophilic fantasy of a naive child in a body of a grown ass cockroach man? Cherie herself always described Wogglebug as childlike, accentuating his inner child and purity. You might mistake those qualities for him being a twink, a fag, whatever. He is very effeminate indeed. In fact, I can say that despite being male, he hardly has any manly qualities. But he is not man enough because of his faggotry, no, it's because he is a boy. As is, a small naive boy, who is pure and gentle and doesn't have any maturity in him. See here what I mean? It's known that pedos are attracted to smal children because of their untainted nature. And that what Cherie does. She created Wogglebug, a Peter Pen like character who displays all traits of a pedophile fantasy despite being an adult man.
He is childish, naive, emotional, whimsical, pure and friendly. He is a 5 year old in your local playground who wants to befriend everybody he meets. He also dresses in bright colorful clothes, because of that you might think of him as a hipster or dandy. But that's because he dresses like a kid.
Next thing. He mostly hangs out with kids. We always see him spending time with Silvya and other girls. So, you can see what I'm trying to tell. Another piece of the pazzle is that Cherie depicts Wogglebug in a very sexual way. You might compare it to known lolicon artists who badly hide their fantasies. I might compare it to Made in Abyss, which is written by a pedophile. It's not explicitly sexual, but you can't help but feel that aomething is wrong. Same thing with Wogglebug. His portrayal just rubs me the wrong way.
