I think a big thing is the EN side doesn't know how to utilize their lore to make something interesting, especially in Holo. Lore can be pretty good when its actually done well and isn't used to cover weaknesses (e.g Mumei's initial forgetfulness to excuse her not knowing how to fill deadair.)I am a holofag but this agency can be really fucking frustrating sometimes.

Only the most surface level of lore really sticks around and that only really translates to the theming of the character designs more than anything. At most the lore seeps into stuff like music and ends up being used in fan works (Myth vs Ina animation, Kugeki's animations, character abilities in Holocure, etc).

indeed, I don't give two shits about the lore stuff either but I find some of the overwrought reactions to it even more perplexing becuase it's ultimately completely inconsequential. I still remember the council debuts when folks were acting like they were having teeth pulled any time there was lore during a debut. and then nothing was ever heard of again regarding it in an official manner.
