General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Throwing this in here as I love following speculative leaks (habit from my goopy gamer brain).
Would be funny if it turned out to be true, but thats a big if.
Good timing on having finished this shitpost.

I can already tell I’m gonna get sick of this “the corporation I like is better than the corporation you like!” arguing really fast.
Its odd cause we JUST had no tribefagging added to the OP rules.

I hope these end up occurring. She seems to be genuinely interested in F1 and was surprised that a lot of her fans are as well. F1 is popular, so this could be a way of engaging with a broader audience beyond people who are just into gameplay streams.
F1 has been making a weird popularity increase in American viewers recently. They've also decided to do more marketing to Americans as well.

Eh. Two members of Luxiem have already collaborated with VShojo since the Kson announcement (Shu and Mysta) and it's been fine. The fujos also fought off CCP tards trying to put fake Anti-China subs on Vox videos.
If NijiEN keeps collabing with the agency that has the vtuber who was at the centre of the whole Taiwan drama then at least that should put to rest the whole "NijiEN blocks HoloEN collabs because of China" rrat.

Didn't Pomu talk about getting a birthday video from a "certain someone" but she wasn't allowed to play it?
Wouldn't have that killed all suspicion that Hololive were the ones blocking collabs?

She has been "free" for a long time with nothing to show for it. This "talent freedom" bs is just more parasocial bait, because it doesn't translate at all towards something a non mentally ill viewer cares or benefits from.
I want my entertainment slaves to produce good content for consumption, because they have strict management that guides them in a good way or because they are free to do as they please and happen to be good at what they do with no guidance. Both are ok in my book, but the fact that they have to use "talent freedom" as marketing and all of their talents repeat it non stop as a mantra is just culty and full of red flags.

Its even worse than GFE, because at least with the GFE everyone is aware that the people involved are sad degenerate fucks and the people doing it are self aware of that fact. The people falling for the "talent freedom" shit are not self aware at all.
its fine, people will learn the hard way,if they think gura chumbuds or those toxic spammer are annoying they should be prepare for vshojo simp going "freedom" or "why this X vtuber are not like vshojo? why this? why that?". That time when people finally realise that "talent freedom" from vshojo is exactly like what twittard always bitching about.

The F1 group was bought by an American company, Liberty Media, back in 2017. Liberty has been way better at marketing the sport than the previous owners, especially in the US. Netflix Drive to Survive and ad-free broadcasting in the US has played a big role in increasing the sports popularity, and it helps that we are also now entering a period of having a relatively competitive field. NASCAR is slowly dying so F1 may become the de facto motorsport for Americans interested in watching motorsports - just as it is in much of the rest of the world.

Let's just hope she didn't bring out the DTS crowd. They're irritating as hell
Well she also mentioned possibly doing watchalongs of DTS. Though she also joked about it being overly dramatic, so she seems to be aware that it's not exactly a truthful series.

This thread talked about this at the time, ultimately there was no firm conclusion either way. I'm not saying with certainty that Hololive is blocking it. I'm just saying that the China explanation will look flimsy if Niji keeps collabing with VShojo.

I wonder if there's a mutual agreement between HoloEN and NijiEN to not compete/attempt to snatch each others' viewerbases, and so collabs are banned since it will require one viewerbase to watch the other streamer.

Funny coincidence, this artwork was done before the announcement

Watch KSon’s new 3D will be her bikini outfit and set of the salt for another 20+ pages, only this time Null will get pissed off and just straight up name the people who go crying to him about “thirstposting”.
This narration of "bikini bad" will be repeated forever, right? Most people (with the excetion of some special individuals) just talked about how bad the model look (shading, consistency of head/body etc.)

Today is also Pekora's 3rd anniversary. The list of the credits in the despriction is fucking long, even longer than the high quality anniversary from Aki. I am really curious what she has planned.

I mean, when one of those “bikini bad” people went crying to Null over it, they kinda doomed it to be remembered that way.

And hell yeah, best rabbit war criminal.

I mean they could always just stream the collab on both channels. I doubt there's any agreement.

I realize now that I kinda fucked up by bringing up this topic again, since it always ends up looping. Basically I'll just say my thoughts and let it be. I will also say that this is pure speculation on my part:
IF the block is on Nijisanji's end then I suspect it might have been put in place when the branch first launched as a way of preventing their members from just being seen as "Hololive adjacent" vtubers. There are a lot of vtubers who interact with Hololive with some way, get a brief bump from that, and then become seen in the community solely through the lens of Hololive. Hell, Uto never collabed with Hololive and she basically just became popular as "Ame's sister" before most of those fans left her when it became clear Ame would never collab with her.

I can kind of understand the concern. Back in the early days of Lazulight their chats were mostly full of Hololive memes as there weren't really any NijiEN memes at the moment and since most NijiEN fans were coming from a Hololive background. Think constant Peko posting and whatnot. During Anime Expo Lite 2021 - which both NijiEN and HoloEN participated in - the chat for Lazulight's stream was full of people begging for Hololive collabs. If you look at the early NijiEN gachis, they mostly came from the Hololive fanbase. Basically management might have been worried that if they collabed with Hololive, the fans would just associate them with Hololive and go on mostly staying in the Hololive sphere. While Anycolor doesn't really push Niji JP on EN fans, they also probably don't want their viewers to not associate their vtubers with Nijisanji at all. And maybe the ban just stayed in place because NijiEN's management is kinda slow.

The main argument against this IMO is that Pomu and Selen both seem to have believed that a collab was possible (albeit Selen's would have been with HoloID, not EN) before finding out that it was not, and that was later on in the year. So if there was a ban from the start one would think they would know that rather than try to plan collabs and then cancel them.

IF the block is on Hololive's end then it would probably just be about Cover trying to keep their competition low. VShojo doesn't really threaten them much as VShojo has a different style and streams on a different site. Indies don't really threaten that because ultimately they aren't backed up by the resources of a corporation. NijiEN is backed by a corporation, streams on YT, and is fairly similar to Hololive in terms of content and style - especially back during the early waves (it seems quaint now, but a lot of people accused Nijisanji of copying Hololive back when Lazulight was announced). It's not a totally unjustified concern either - as I mentioned, much of NijiEN's early fanbase did come from the Hololive fandom. So by preventing collabs they'd basically reduce the risk of their largest competitor in Japan establishing some kind of foothold in EN, a market which Hololive did and still does dominate.

The main argument I've seen made against this is that it's not just HoloEN collabs that seem to be blocked, but HoloID as well. IMO that could be explained by the fact that ultimately every branch is under Cover's wider management and there are some shared rules.

Feel free to believe in either guess, or neither. Ultimately I have no idea and no evidence. Same goes for everyone else here.

Re: Stereotypes. How are people not supposed to laugh at this collab? I thought it was another of Riverbear's troll posts at first.

Edit: I do genuinely like the potential China rage aspect of it, though. Don't trust China, china is a*hooole.
