Because, strangely, trans is almost it's own religion to a lot of the current movement. People join in because they're lonely or broken and want to fix it, and others join in to gain power mod status IRL (narcs and attention seekers). If we were in the 80s & 90s, these people would either be a part of a Christian church sector, a different sort of cult, or on drugs. Trans itself isn't exciting, if you genuinely desire to be another gender yet act casual & friendly while sperging about your interest online, you're not earning a thread.
So currently in the internet social media zeitgeist, you have to follow strict rules on how to act within and without the religion. A lot of these avoid reality and pseudoscience ("I got my phantom period!") is promoted and defended when called out. Ties get broken if too much heresy is spoken, critiques to the religion get defended HARD, members get bitter towards ex members and while glossing over flaws of those in their group. Coomers are aloud to run rampant since the group preaches tolerance and the low standards for joining the spiritual philosophy allow anyone to come in, leading to the old religious trope of "If you know your bible the best, then you can become super popular with no talent" and promoting narcs who yell loudest to the top. There's a weird hierarchy based on how much you pass and how much effort you spent on transitioning that ends up with many people snipping at each other and normies who won't have sex with them. I'm a fan of both cults and watching movements eat themselves so all thia is fascinating to me.
I'm going to quickly describe a few cows and their behavior without mentioning their trans status:
- Manchild sits at home doing nothing but computers all day, ignoring the failing business around him and focusing all his attention on hedonistic pleasures as a self declared hedonist. In a polyamorus relationship with multiple people he never sleeps with, just collects like the transformers and dinosaur toys he hoards and begs for money for. A random "medical expense" usually means "I need money for more toys" and his followers give it to him without question. Spouts off coomer takes and insane pseudoscience to his followers, cannot argue to save his life and melts down at criticism.
- Man boast about getting a large streamer banned from twitch. Proclaims Kiwi Farms is next. Null declares open season, and while said man was bragging earlier about never letting the farms or anyone else get to him, immediately deletes fucking everything. Ran a server called catboy ranch that encouraged minors to join and "accidentally" badly kept away said minors from posting suggestive pictures of themselves and encouraged them to wear collars and do drugs. Claims to be communist but consooms like a motherfucker, embezzled a fuckton of money from his Canadian communist party to fuel drugs and whatever he wanted. Picks fights with people he think he can easily win against and uses every technique he can to bully them, from faking DMs to calling people pedophiles without backup. Invites people to "debate" (read: him to yell at) live on stream so he can control when they get banned while getting constant asspats from his hugbox of mentally ill followers. Obviously has a seething contempt for women, thinks them stupid, loves yelling at them and encourages autistic girls to come to his apartment to watch trains with him so he can then plow them later. Has made graphic remarks about raping moms and destroying their uteri and got banned from twitter for how vile he got for a day. Utter sociopath narcissist who lives for himself alone. Terrible at arguing and crumples under critique.
- Somewhat boring but fun cow to me: A man who wishes to be a prominent member of his community seeks power to cover up his insecure ego. Previously, he had attempted to get great by writing for the Daily Kos (leaving a blipmark), becoming a reddit power moderator (and getting a 7 inch reddit logo tattoo on his arm), becoming a drug dealer for a while in college (and gloating about how much he has done but then gets convicted of a felony in Florida for selling illict substances even though he did NOTHING WRONG), and then finally joined the current woke movement and insist on making a name for himself by reposting news from other sites while dropping political hot takes. Has subtle problems with women, dislikes them even though he claims otherwise and sees them as beneath him. Insists on his beliefs ALWAYS being right, hurt his second ex wife by taking their only kid and using his young son as a political prop and not really giving a fuck about the poor kid otherwisem Post outfits of the day with terrible fashion sense. LOVES preening and staring at himself on camera. Hate reads sites that disagree with his views, including us.
- Artist who style kept degrading over time because she needed to churn our art daily to keep getting constant asspats to keep her ego afloat. Got lazy and barely puts any effort into it anymore. Consistently kept pityfarming and suicidebaiting since her emotions were a Borderline Personality Disorder flux of extreme highs and lows and manipulated people into pitying her. Kept venting about how popular other artist got (in spite of having hundreds of thousands herself) and shittalking people she thought lower than herself. Used friends as emotional support props instead of actual connections and lashed out easily at them. Talked a ton about how minors should never see and interact with NSFW artists yet became a hypocritical coomer and posted constant suggestive stuff for coom and super asspats, failed to block minors since she couldn't stand her follower count dipping. Yelled at people for criticism of any sort and generally all around ornery asshole. Told tall tales of herself like getting raped and pregnant while in a 3 day mental stay place then the baby miscarried. Got BTFO'ed after a minor manipulated her off the net.
- Niche comic artist who promotes himself as wholesome, turned out to be a diaperfur who had a double life with a suggestive art account and literally traced a baby for a picture, doubled down on defending diaperfurring & ABLD and denied said tracing. Jack Chick preachy cartoonist, utterly lazy and shit at drawing, grifted for a new 3000$ tablet and other products. Self righteous and preachy. Funny to edit comics with shit writing and art.
That was Kathryn/Kevin Gibes, Clare Sorentti/Lucas Roberts, Erin/Anthony Reed, Puppychan/Autumn Neville, and Sophie LaBelle/French Buffalo Bill (forgot his previous name). They're just the ones I follow off the top of my head. They all have themes in common because of what I like personally, but each provides a different flavor of crazy and stupid.
