It's not so much a matter as they "have to" resort to it as it is one where a ton of American women skate by doing the absolute bare minimum in high school by showing up and fucking people for better grades, and then once they graduate they have no actual skills nor education to pursue scholarship paid college degrees so they resort to porn because it pays better to take dick than flip burgers.
Even if you gave these people absolutely free college most of them would choose worthless degrees and then go back to porn because it pays better than most degrees they'd be able to attain.
