It's been a while since I read up in this thread (about a year) and it's somewhat disappointing that his downfall was so fast and so hard and since then he's just been sitting and spinning without anything catastrophic or notable happening to him. His career has gone out in a whimper and the quiet echos are a tranny asking his mom for McDonalds money.

Took a look at Digi's channel to see how he's doing and it appears that he's going back to trying to stir up drama for views. I don't care about capeshit, so I don't exactly have any authority on the subject, but the Like/Dislike ratio seems to convey who's winning the argument here.

It seems like his strategy is to talk about anime to get the views which will translate into subscribers, and then change to different content in the hopes they'll stick around. As you might have guessed, it doesn't work, nor does it get through to Digi that people are there for his fucking opinions about anime.
If going after Drinker is Digi's idea for views, yeah, he's not going to take low quality bait.

You could tell wide-eyes college me back in 2018 that in four years’ time Digi would be trying to salvage his channel by going to bat for capeshit and I wouldn’t believe you. Marvel movies wouldn’t even register on peak Digi’s radar. In fact, I remember in How They Marketed: B the Beginning, there was a segment where he was dunking on the sound design of Hollywood movies and how the sound designers are accustomed to filling every scene of a film with as much ambience and noise as possible because they are under the impression that the filmgoing normies who watch these films absolutely hate dead air.

It’s a small thing, but it speaks volumes about how Digi perceived mainstream media at the time, especially in the West, and people change over time, sure, but unless they’re subject to something a prolonged period of CIA torture, I don’t think it’s normal to redefine yourself to the point you do an entire 180 on your interests and the deeply held beliefs associated with it.

I think that and he's adopting another contrarian position in the hopes that it takes off like SAO. However, I think the difference here is that people are burnt out on 15 years of the Marvel formula, while Digi is catching up on the past 10 years of content and clapping at the Identity Politics that Marvel is scratching at.
