There is no way to know her functioning level she is hearing impaired and though they have an hearingaid for her shes rarely seen with it. But yes as any infant would they signal their needs.

They did this with both the Gard & Evan's cases as well. It's essentially a box ticking exercise so that Hollie can't scream from the rooftops that she was denied "justice" when all this is done & dusted - and it will be done & dusted. The new judge will come to exactly the same conclusion because there is no other conclusion to come to. We don't keep people with zero chance of recovery on life support forever here just because the family refuse to accept reality. I guarantee that once this seemingly endless run through the UK High Court/Court of Appeals/ Supreme Court is over there will be a fruitless appeal to the ECHR, which will be dismissed very quickly because it's outside their jurisdiction & then we're done.

It's all an utterly pointless exercise but every hoop has to be jumped through unfortunately, regardless of the monumental waste of everyone's time & taxpayers money :roll:

At this point it’s also not even just the monumental waste of time, money and resources. Gard and Evans were kids who were much younger and had been sicker for longer.

There’s the extra layer of distress to the kids in Archies social circles, classes, extended life who have spent four months now in limbo when Archie himself has been out of pain for a while now.

The whole thing is awful, and I wouldn’t put even the worst person in Hollies position, nobody deserves this at all. Many of us would also fight tooth and nail if we couldn’t comprehend brain stem death as final. But now, instead of a memory of Archie, theres the story of his protracted death in his place. No person, least of all kids, deserves to be remembered for how they died and how others felt about their death.

This media circus shouldn’t be what his little friends remember about him in 10 years.

Thank you for the explanation! I think it's pretty similar to our justice system here in Sweden actually, I just can't remember ever seeing a case like this here (thank god).

I would respect Paisley's parents' grift if it actually went to something beneficial that wasn't covered. Yeah, she's profoundly disabled and it might not work for her. But Paisley is in there a little bit somewhere, right? She has some awareness of her environment. She deserves the chance to try, more so than a child like Luna who is completely blind, incapable of purposeful movement, and has absolutely no awareness of anything.

It seems like both to me. She's a fucking idiot, and if she is wrong about something then people will think she's stupid, which she totally is not! But she has an intense need to control the narrative, what people think about her, and everything that happens around her. She cannot let people think she's stupid, and she cannot cope with things not going her way.

I hadn't even considered that. How are the parents of his classmates even supposed to explain this? At least Charlie Gard and Alfie Evans were so young and so severely ill from infancy that it's not like they had friends or classmates who needed an explanation of what was happening. Archie's schoolmates are probably old enough to understand that death is permanent, but at 12 they might still have weird "magical" beliefs. I also can't help but think about kids hearing the rhetoric that the hospital wants to "kill" Archie by turning off life support. What will these kids think about the next time they're ill and need to see a doctor?

Agreed. If we're tired of Hollie, imagine how the people at the hospital are feeling. They have to act professional at all times, but I would imagine they have some thoughts about it all. Especially considering the circumstances, I'm sure they are all absolutely walking on eggshells to avoid even the slightest hint of something Hollie could spin as impropriety.

Poor Archie. I feel like ultimately, what will be lost in all of the appeals and court documents is that a vibrant, healthy little boy who should have his entire life in front of him died in a senseless and terrible way. Children are not pawns for adult games.

@Thomas Eugene Paris Now I’m curious, did Charlie even have friends irl? He wasn’t in school for some time, he had behavior issues, there were issues with the neighbors, maybe there were kids at the gym he could socialize with? That leaves him with his bad influence siblings and online creeps. He must have been very lonely.

If you've ever worked in a costuming store, fabric store, wedding store, crafting store - you'll hate glitter. Minor PL: in high school, I worked at a local craft supply store. It was a running joke how much everyone hated glitter, myself especially. One employee actually got an ear infection at one point because the glitter got stuck so far in her ear. Halloween and Christmas were always the worst times of year, too, because everything is covered in glitter or that shitty fake flocking shit that you spray on artificial Christmas trees. "Craft Herpes" is the best term for glitter I have ever heard and I won't be forgetting it soon; it's awfully accurate. Thank you, @Chaotic Misanthrope :lit:


So, with all that being said, please do mail her glitter. Have fun getting rid of it, Hollie. She won't be able to, lol.
