Oh no, who could have predicted this? After Jill determinedly gave her mother a wash and set in the ICU, the drain line protecting Pat's brain from from swelling clogged up and she's taken a turn for the worse. Jill's mother, nurses, and entire care team have given a huge collective sigh of relief. The woman can finally get some rest and get on with healing and the early and most crucial stages of recovery. It's confusing and exhausting. People forget that it's an injury, that the body needs to repair, while simultaneously rerouting neural pathways. Strokes lose weight often in the first stages of healing because the brain is burning massive amounts of calories.
