Still lookin for creeper shots of Dave walking/powerwalking/jogging (Dave uses all these words interchangeably). During his boomer Q&A yesterday he was going on about how much healthier is now cause of it and before he was basically a walking corpse. It being Dave, I'm sure he's lying, which makes it better since he talks about this shit and doesn't realize that being able to walk a mile without getting winded is not a major accomplishment unless you've just come out of a twenty year coma. Also this is Dave who actually said cause he worked out and had muscles in his arms, that they are always there even though he hasn't weight lifted in years.
Found the original clip : Dave insists that his arms are still loaded with muscles you can see when he flexes his arms.
Month later still insisting his arms are still full of muscles
Up until now, I've actually been kind of giving Dave the benefit of the doubt on this. My feeling has basically been: if we're gonna clown on him and call him an out of shape fat fuck who doesn't leave the house and being someone for whom carrying a couple of gallons of milk is 'a workout', and then shit on him when he finally does actually start to do something, regardless of how minor it is, it almost kind of validates his narrative that 'trolls will hate on me no matter what I do'.
I've stopped thinking that way though, and this is why it always DOES come back around to hating on him for what he'd consider 'anything I do no matter what'. The guy starts to do this goofy ass power walking to get his mail shit, ok great, he needs the exercise no matter what kind it is. Good for him. But it always eventually turns into this:
1. He takes the babiest of steps to do something positive for himself and, within no time at all, his life has completely turned around! He all of a sudden is a new man! This is just his way of justifying to himself, and trying to convince others, that nothing further is needed and he can continue with the bare minimum.
2. Like the OP said, he starts talking about the time before whatever change he's made as though he was half dead / life as he knew it was about to end (nevermind that if you said any of this to him at the time, he'd call you a shithead and ban you).
3. He starts to talk and act like some authority, not just in a specific, narrow way about what he has direct experience with, but broadly about whatever the entire overarching topic is (in this case, fitness / exercise).
He never ceases to squander seemingly every opportunity he has to maybe win some people over and maybe show that he's started to put some thought into improving himself and making better decisions. Instead, he uses it as just another way to be an even bigger and more insufferable asshole.
