You thought Kick Vic was a toxic sperg war? Wait until you waltz over to the One Piece fanbase and talk about Yamato's Gender. Subs call her "he" when gendered language isn't used. In fact, Vic should voice Yamato in English just to start the greatest flame war in anime history.

There's a dub v sub debate that I'm interested in but not for the reasons you think. Ever since Covid, anime dubs have been an inconsistent mess of shitty recording booths/setups 18 different microphones, and some characters sounding like they record on their fucking phones.

Vic has a chance to leave the cheesy Funimation-era dubs and bring actual acting into the fold. It blows me away that anime dubbing from the early 2000s seems to be the best era for anime dubs: FMA, Lupin III Part II, Berserk, CowBop, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho.. I don't know what was in the 2002 water, but we need more of it.

Regardless of literally anyone's views on the people involved in this, I don't think anyone should be upset that there is now direct competition in the US voice-acting scene; innovation and advancement is always faster when there is genuine competition, and hopefully we'll get more voice acting reminiscent of the late 90's/early 2000's.

Hell, look at the fandom Wiki: it should be easy to infer that Yamato is actually a girl, but wants to be Oden and so refers to herself as a guy. Instead of understanding that or playing it safe and saying "they", this is what they put instead:

This has occurred in his introduction box in Chapter 984,[4] in the characters section at the beginning of volumes, and in merchandise. It's a microcosm of the whole reason Vic got into this mess. These "people" (And I do mean that loosely as many of them don't have an internal monologue) are venomous and fucking crazy and no amount of convincing them that their worldview is retarded will change that.

I remember getting banned from One Piece forums which discussed Vic just for saying "the presumption of innocence is important" These people are so out of it, that they see the presumption of innocence not as pillar of law to prevent false accusations from destroying the innocent, but rather an unnecessary obstacle to their crusade. It's clear they don't want innocence, they want blood. And yet when you suggest retaliating against them, you inevitably get some retard "from your side" going "BUT DAT MAKES YOU JUST AS BAD AS THEMMMMM"

Sure the Barbarians cut my head off, but at least I didn't pick up a sword and defend myself because I didn't want to be just as bad as them.

I can't imagine claiming to be an anime fan and only knowing that Nippon is only known for old anime.
Only real issue is that they don't release that many series every year. You don't need a physical studio to release dubs for their series. You can just do it from home with a proper setup. While it keeps Vic in the business, it wont give him a lot of work. They'll need to do a good job on the 1-4 anime the studio makes or produces so other studios will deal with them.
