That's because nobody actually wants to work in a worker co-op. Not even the working class.

They always try to start up traditional businesses. Not that it's a bad thing, there's a pretty damned good reason why worker co-ops don't work out for most people.

That's probably the reason why leftists try to force the socialist model on people, few people would actually willingly operate under it.

You have the freedom to start up a worker co-op under capitalism. The reason why they want to overthrow capitalism, not coexist with it, is because they're frustrated and angry that people don't behave or act the way they think they should when left to their own devices.

Co-Ops only really work in like coffee shops and shit. But yeah, forcing people to live under your preferred economic system is authoritarian.

I'm actually kinda hoping he does get evicted soon from his apartment and here's why. Something needs to humble him and also slap him back down to reality. Xanderhal for much of his time as a political commentator, he is filled with hubris and the reason why he's knee deep in a lot shit now is because he had these grandiose delusions of how he thinks he's better than those on the Right just because he leans Left and look where this got him now he's just being a laughing stalk.

Sure his simps will still support him but I think Xanderhal being in deep shit will hopefully teach him a big life lesson.

Can a Leftoid be redeemed? Yes if they finally start gaining some self-awareness and realize their own ideals are really toxic. That's what happened to Laci Green where her own politics did her in and now she's far more humble and it took her being at rock bottom to snap out of her own delusions. Laci Green is still a left-winger but she's no longer this hardline leftist that she used to be over five years ago anyway.

Sadly I have to agree with you there. Though him living with his mom again we'll probably get more hilarity since Xanderhal is a trainwreck of a human being. He'll probably live with his mom again and then his mom will probably no longer tolerate his shit anymore and probably get into some drama with his own family considering he's pretty much a total loser anyway.

The thing is worker coops, as well as various other cooperatives (consumer, producer, financial) all can be successful and thrive under the current market system. Obviously you have Mondragon and the various other large coops in Spain, In the Emilio-Romagna worker owned industries make up a third of it's GDP. In Britain and Singapore consumer cooperatives (firms that are managed by consumers) are quite popular. Even one of the largest producers of oranges in the United States, Florida's natural growers, is an agricultural cooperative that is thriving and growing. I don't think the issue is the cooperative model itself it's more that these Breadtubers are too lazy and undisciplined to to actually try and start a cooperative enterprises and would rather LARP as revolutionaries for them Patreon shekels

Yeah, yeah. Not denying they can be successful.

But you'd have to be an authoritarian to believe that's the only way people should organize, and to enforce it.

The point is, what makes socialism so authoritarian is the fact that worker co-ops can thrive under capitalist or free market systems, but if people want to live a capitalist or free market lifestyle under socialism, tough shit.

Socialists believe that their subjective opinion on how things should be run is the one objective true way.

And seeing that many of these socialists are rich enough to make the attempt to start a co-op...yeah.
