They are so deep into this meta game of buzzwords none of them can realize how silly and inconsequential all of this is just two people trying to claim moral superiority over one another.

It’s actually even more interesting with their art fight thing, or more narcissistic. I’m no expert when it comes to art fight, but I usually see people draw art of other people’s characters, usually when attacking or whatever. Ash, however, has apparently chosen to only draw their character in both attacks and defense. I doubt there are rules against that or anything, but it comes off as so incredibly narcissistic, which is par for the course. View attachment 3478406

That being said, there are only 10 days left for art fight and she haven't done a single defense, makes me wonder if she is actually commited to doing something for someone that isn't herself and her little cult or if this was just a charade made only to get free art.

Now this is some interesting shit. I’d have to read through it entirely to get a better vibe of it all, but certainly interesting. Ash had relied on Vera often for mod work, but I remember something about some drama or something and Ash basically crapping all over Vera, but I might me mixing another mod with them. Either way, Vera often sucked up to Ash, with Ash basically taking Vera for granted, imo at least. Maybe the straw that broke the camel’s back is listed in this, so I’ll be interested in going through it.

So, I might have a theory as to why Ash has been silent as of late on multiple public fronts. You see, they temporarily left the Easter server due to a conversation related to Pearl, the Luneko character in Floraverse based off of their pet cat of the same name, who I believe had passed away a while ago (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong on that). You can see the conversation here:
Ash is named “The Host” in these logs. This might not be the reason as to why Ash hasn’t been active in artfight or on twitter, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a contributing factor to their absence.
Overall, it’s extraordinarily dumb to think that people wouldn’t critique or criticize a character in the stories you make public. Yes, people often pull from personal experiences, many of which may be very emotional, when creating works of art. BUT, when you do that, you should be ready for people to have harsh and negative things to say about that particular work, things that might be hurtful to you. And of course its really cute to immortalize a pet in a piece of media or art work, but if you make them a strongly defined character, understand that people might have negative opinions on that character.
Like, I get it, Floraverse is very emotional and personal for Ash, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just bad form because Ash can’t handle criticism, everyone reading this already knows that, but because Floraverse is so personal to them, any criticism against it is in some ways criticism against Ash or someone Ash likes. So someone saying they don’t like a character because they are annoying or whatever is also them saying they don’t like this person or even Ash theirself, and that’s too much for Ash. So much, in fact, that they felt it necessary to leave the server this negative thing was said in for a brief period of time.
Ash, you literally set it up so people would unknowingly say negative shit about you and the people you know simply by starting their opinions on Floraverse and it’s characters. You set yourself up for that, and you, as an artist and creative, should have known this.

From what I understand, the individual wasn’t kicked, nor have they left. I don’t know if that is entirely accurate, as things might have changed since, but I was not told of this person leaving the server as of yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get pressured out of the server or kicked outright, though.

I was speaking generally. They immediately backed down and apologized so of course they weren't kicked. My assumption is that if anyone has negative opinions on a comic character and doesn't back down from that they'll most likely be kicked given how Glip reacted.

Maybe people wouldn't be so harsh with their critique on Ash's characters if said characters didn't spend 95% of their time screaming, calling their loved ones names, and being overwhelmingly negative in general.

That's just the server modus operandi, don't be fooled by the "i'm hurt" façade these people are looking at anyone letting their guard down so they can be mentally abused so they feel morally righteous.

On the one hand I can easily see someone being touchy about a character commemorating a dead pet or family member. That shit is incredibly personal and hearing "this character is an asshole" can feel very disrespectful to that individual's memory, regardless of how they acted in life.
On the other hand, dude didn't know about the cat and apologized for the misunderstanding profusely but still got wailed on for making a passing statement about what he thought was a regular, non-memorial, reoccuring character.
On the third hand, this is exactly why featuring characters based off of loved ones-dead or alive-is generally not considered a good idea in most media, or needs to be handled with extreme care. Once you make that character a main character, or even a frequent side character, someone is going to notice them and develop an opinion based on that portrayl independant to your own recollection of them.
You don't get to play "art is just fantasy, not reality, so everything we do is a safe expression have fun" and then get personally upset and act as though it's a deliberate insult when your representation of a very real person or entity doesn't click with somebody and they express their honest opinion about it.
Honestly Glip lost me at the whole "Luneko's are personal to me because they're based off of my Real Life Cats" stuff when you realize that they have an entire Zine dedicated to Luneko's being canon to Floraverse.
