Fauci expects to retire by end of Biden's current term
View attachment 3503585
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government's top infectious disease expert, said Monday he plans to retire by the end of President Joe Biden's term in January 2025.

Fauci, 81, was appointed director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in 1984, and has led research in HIV/AIDS, respiratory infections, Ebola, Zika and the coronavirus. He has advised seven presidents and is Biden's chief medical adviser.

In an interview with Politico, Fauci said he hoped to "leave behind an institution where I have picked the best people in the country, if not the world, who will continue my vision.”

Asked Monday on CNN when he planned to retire, Fauci said he does not have a specific retirement date in mind and hasn't started the process. He said he expects to leave government before the end of Biden’s current term, which ends in January 2025.

“By the time we get to the end of Biden’s first term, I will very likely (retire),” Fauci said. He added: “it is extremely unlikely - in fact, for sure - that I am not going to be here beyond January 2025.”

Fauci, long a prominent figure of the government's response to infectious disease, was thrust even more into the spotlight at the height of the coronavirus pandemic under then-President Donald Trump. As the pandemic response became politicized, with Trump suggesting the pandemic would “fade away,” promoting unproven treatment methods and vilifying scientists who countered him, Fauci had to get security protection when he and his family received death threats and harassment.

Fauci testified repeatedly to Congress about the virus, and he and some Republicans, including Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, engaged in heated exchanges over the origins of the virus.

Fauci said Monday his decision to eventually leave his role was unrelated to politics.

“It has nothing to do with pressures, nothing to do with all of the other nonsense that you hear about, all the barbs, the slings and the arrows. That has no influence on me,” he said.

Fleeing the ship before the iceberg is hit.

November and 2024 is projected to be such a bloodbath these people are trying to change their skins so they don't end up decorating lamp posts.
As above, they know that the RINOs won't care to protect them and the MAGA politicians want their heads. So rather than betting on the uninterested side blocking their execution they are instead fleeing while they can.

I don't think he was targeting you two specifically and the levels of offense you guys took is interesting.

I have alot of gripes with generations prior to Gen x and zoning laws and fucking the housing markets if you want to have a slap fight in dm's. I'm not blaming you guys specifically, just the generational policies of "fuck you, got mine" - by no means were any favors given to those of us who did everything right since graduating in 2007. Served, college, saved, worked our asses off - will never get a home unless we can down payment 250k and get fist fucked with 50 year notes and not hitting principle for the first 20 years.
A lot of us older parents are very used to being blamed for the world going to shit. By other parents, by the generation after us, sometimes by our own kids. It leads to a knee-jerk reaction.

With today's Biden cancer comment can people finally agree democrats elected an actually demented person because they hated Trump so much? The evidence is too overwhemingly at this point to even refute it. Biden is in cognitive decline. We used to joke about this but it's beyond the point of even being mocked. Joe Biden has reduced mental faculty's. The left elected a person who is mentally impaired because orange man is bad.

No. You will NEVER be allowed to suggest Biden was anything less than the most popular president in history, who won in the most secure and transparent election of all time, that bravely personally fought off a legion of neo-nazi fascist capitalists on the steps of the capital building that wanted to overturn the election and install Hitler 2.0. The left is very, very, VERY experienced in ignoring reality and embracing their own fantasy world.

@Just Some Other Guy
It's an interesting time. I believe the odds are very good we'll see ~20% reductions in prices for the majority of markets, and maybe around ~30% for the heavy overvalued markers like Boise, Dallas, most of Florida, etc. The primary driving force being the decrease in demand, which will likely wipe out any of the "covid gains." This definitely won't be a repeat of 2008 though. The market is healthier than its been for a long time, and lending standards have only gotten stricter (don't think I've seen anybody get an ARM since like 2010 lol).

That being said, mortgage rates are only going to increase to combat double digit inflation. Simultaneously, rent is only going to keep increasing as a result, likely keeping demand for homes high (not 2020/21 high but still higher than average).

I find it unlikely that rates will be dropping in the next 5 years or so (but could be wrong), so no matter what you'll get buttfucked, whether or not you overpaid, or interest will rape you. However, any corrections in the market will likely rebound way faster than 2008, as there isn't a subprime crisis or underlying housing issues this time around. Just a massively skewed supply and demand. This will allow you to sell and/or refinance hopefully within 5-10 years, only if need be of course. Plus, supply overall has still not recovered from the housing crisis, which was one of the variables in homes becoming so expensive in the past decade.

All in all, don't worry about timing the market. If you want to buy a house and you are financially and mentally ready, go for it. Houses are long term investments, and unless you know exactly what you're doing (you probably don't) you shouldn't be purchasing a home unless you wish to stay in it for at least 5 years. Preferably more than 10 if the market so deems it.

As an aside, I bought my second home in early 2007 (yikes). Needless to say, my ass got fried. But I still own it, its worth ~$50k more than I bought it for, and it's almost paid off. Yeah, I could have gotten a better deal, but I'm not going to be a sulky little bitch about it. Just buy and hold.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, I'm old and tired.
Uncle June made a good post on the market yesterday.

But how is that "generational" and not caused by corporations, banks, and the economy?

Look, I get it. It's tough getting a good start at life these days, have seen and felt it for my own kids. But it was tough for me, too. Do you know what the interest rate was when I closed on my first home in August of 1983? Take a deep breath... 14.57%. The only way I was able to swing it was due to a VA loan. Yes, homes were cheaper then (so was everything), but wages were a hell of a lot less, too.

The economy has always been cyclical in this regard. Boom times, bust times depending on who is running the show in DC. It's really not "those damn Boomers" which is why it raises my dander a bit. It's fiscal policy and the government's often ham-fisted attempts to control the economy.

Biden is pushing us over a fiscal cliff. Even though both parties have kicked the can down the road for years, he'll be the one that kicks it right into the trash can. I dread that for you, me, for all of us. All generations.

No, and they probably never will. Even if the guy has a full on old man moment on stage in front of the cameras and starts going on a racist tirade, swearing every word under the sun before trashing the stage, they will never admit it. Any journalists filming it will either have their cameras immediately seized/smashed by the obedient crowd, or obscured in some way so they can't witness the carnage. Any international news sources will blank out Bidet's meltdown entirely, and YT will be on hand to remove anyone uploading it from a third party. Reddit will delete any posts regardless of how many thousand upvotes it gets, citing from a whole palette of excuses to make sure it doesn't stay up, whereas Twitter will censor and fact-check the post as soon as it's uploaded. Snopes will blow so much smoke up his butthole he'll think his fuckup son is giving him a rimjob, and Wikipedia will find a way to tie this to Trump.

They are mentally stunted, and yet they have wormed their way into positions of power, whether as an influential celebrity, a pop scientist, or a dogmatic scientist polluting academia like cargo ships pollute the sea. Nay, that would imply some degree of incompetence that they can't help, and that simply isn't true. These people are maliciously naive. They know exactly what they are doing, and they know from the past decade they can get continually get away with this because they are empowered to. There is nothing scarier than an insane person with even a modicum of power.

Our biggest mistake (and by this, I mean everyone on the political spectrum from classic liberal to full-blown Nazi) was thinking these people thought normally. They don't. All it took was one (1) unfavourable outcome at the SC to have them go from licking judicial boot to screeching the metaphorical house down that America was being consumed by a christofascist civilian dictatorship. As the rest of the world sees them for who they really are, they have to increase their stranglehold to compensate. They radicalize further and further left, to the point most centrists are now no different than a conservative.

Everyone thinks living around niggers would be cool until they actually live around niggers.
I love it when reality hits upper-middle class 20-something Whitoids move into "ethnic" neighborhoods, and realize that real life black people aren't like television black people.

I'm sure the international media would cover it just to distract their own populations from the failure of their own politicians. Australian media has been super critical of Biden. I see their segments on YouTube all the time and they get a lot of views.

Someone will save it and it'll get uploaded to the farms.

But how is that "generational" and not caused by corporations, banks,
How many banks and globalist mega corporations are owned and operated by millennials or zoomers? I work for a global homo corp and the C suite execs are like on average 65-70.

No one is shitting on you specifically but fucking come on dude, get real.

Or when they abolish zoning, build low-income housing, or otherwise do something to let those poor, suffering blax share in their beautiful manicured parks and farmers' markets and whatever else it is they think black people would love to be enriched by rather than destroy.

Mike Pence was in DC yesterday, who knows, maybe he'll be there today to testify to the 1/6 fags and lie about how Trump personally chased him through the White House like it was Die Hard. But he stopped by to speak with "true, tough conservatives" like that fucking poser Chip Roy who then sucked off Pussy Pence.

It's a broken record with me and this faggot Roy isn't even my congressman, but I see through his bullshit immediately. The guy has tried so hard to be the super tough Freedom Caucus republican who always acts like he's brings fire to his house speeches or on the steps of the Capitol, he tries to be the tough bald guy with a beard like he's a military firefighter dad, but whenever it fucking matters he tucks his dick between his legs and waddles away. He is just like a quarterback on the other team getting free passing yardage in the 4th quarter of an unwinnable game, he's just padding the stats.

@Gehenna I know you just do polling but you guys speak to other pollsters and political people out there, I want your company to hear this type of shit from a normie 30 something to relay to RNC cockmunchers if they're hiring you: I will never vote for Pence, no matter what he does from now on. Everyone he associates with lowers my impressions of them, and if the RINOs convince Desantis to run against Trump and force a fight and Desantis somehow wins via fortifying, I will not vote for any republican in '24, I will stay at home.
