Leigh Alexander wrote a new post on her personal site (no archived link because archive.is is not working for me, don't be afraid to click on the link as Leigh's site is not supported by ad revenue). The TL;DR is that she's resigning from Offworld, not promising to quit writing about vidya altogether but suggesting she'll do so significantly less in the immediate future. Meanwhile, Leigh and Laura Hudson (Leigh's partner in the crime that is Offworld) started a Kickstarter to publish some of the articles that appeared on Offworld in a book form. It's not clear to me if they'll publish all the articles from the site or only a selection of them. Funding goal is $30,000 and as of now they've reached half of that with 29 days to go.
In addition to the main funding goal, there are also three stretch goals:
A full list of the writers whose work will be published in the book is provided on the Kickstarter page and includes such colorful characters as Zoe Quinn and Sarah Nyberg. That's right people, Nyberg might get more than $150 for writing one aritcle for Offworld!

Is funny to read Laura Hudson on there given she is also like Leigh in get kicked out of web sites in a thin vail way. (Laura Hudson was the one person that transformed Comics Allience in a tumblr like blog)
Is a shame as I think both genuinely like geek stuff or whatever popular culture but their politics and abrasive behavior makes insufferable reading the websites they go to contaminate.

Considering that the big two sales are absolutely fucked right now because of shit like that, Slott picked a fucking awful time to jump on the SJW gravy train.
Also he's a shit writer with a hard on for Doctor Octopus, takes every moment to wank off Doc Ock or his most recent ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL, and has the comedic timing of a cockroach. The sooner he's off Spider-Man, the sooner that book has a chance of getting good again.

Oh great, thanks for reminding me that Silk still exists. I hoped that Spider Gwen being around (and an overall better character) would mean that we could all forget about Spider Sue. Slott's been around forever and yet I think the only run of his I ever really liked was his work on The Thing. So, hey, if he wants to poke this hornet's nest then by all means.
