General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I'm not sure what Uki's done besides be gay and throw around a silly line or two on twitter, which in the end means little to actual content produced on streams.
I don't watch Uki though, only one from that set I occasionally watch is Fulgur thanks to his chemistry with Millie.
To put it nicely: he has plenty of talents, but being able to be high energy and entertaining compared to his peers isn't one of them.

Uki's audience are primarily Western fujos and they see his streams as comfortable. He is an extremely gay dude, and aside from the occasional funny sharp-tongued retort he has, that's really the bulk of his personality.

But Uki is easy to avoid if you don't like his content. Describing any amount of non-straight people in NijiEN as 'disturbing' is one hell of a reach when you want to apply for them, because this has always been something members of every other branch have openly expressed and chatted about in the past too, and has therefore always been part of the company culture.

You're not 'wrong' or 'bad' if you don't want to be open to seeing that content as a viewer, but it is retarded to actively be trying to get into the company whilst also already complaining that you hate your would-be coworkers.

His audience is very weird, hardcore fujos and normal womans, i saw them in the Unpacked stream and when he was shitting on the character wardrobe they were there like old hags gossiping and agreeing with him its kinda funny to see semi normies on the wild

You know the various female vtubers that are described as "comfy?" Uki is basically the male version of that.
Personally I find that vtubers described as comfy are generally boring, and that applies here. I don't mind him being in EN as he has a good singing voice and an actual sense of design in Minecraft. He's also good when interacting with Elira and Pomu, which makes sense given their PLs.

Is Amiya using a Retron?
I haven't seen Nemo run this laggy since that time I had retroarch hooked to an old i5 laptop. Then again what doesn't retroarch fuck up.

Ive never watched Uki but i remember when /vt/ and even some YT comments were malding and dilating over the time he went to a Finana x Pomu offcollab

EDIT: Comments are still off to this day lmao

Yeah, there was a bit of that in his birthday stream too when he was talking about having his nails done and knew more about the topic than Enna or Millie. He can do "girl talk" better than most of the girls.

Sometime I wish I was so delusional and full of myself as people like you.
A "future applicant" already whining about his non-existent coworkers, that's some next level V-tweeters. The medium is so mature that the twitter step is skipped and the whining starts from the farms now
Reminds me of the (now deleted) tweet storm https://twitter.com/rukanazumi made crying about NijiEN Wave 6 and praising Tempus.

lol I remember Pomu said: "Comments were off because of a youtube glitch."

I remember Kanae i think it was, outstripping Hoshikawa in girl power she was so embarrassed that a man has more girl power than her thats apparently very common in Niji

btw Kiara just mentioned that someone in EN put in internal schedule "Drinking my sorrows away" the day close to Sana graduation and surprisingly it was not Calli

Unless you're talking about different tweets, its still up: https://twitter.com/rukanazumi/status/1549579056236007425
Yep, he made a different set that's now deleted, that was the first one I remember seeing rile up people lol

Oh Kiara, you really don't know when to not say shit that will cause rrats, do you?
She really can't let go some habits no matter how much she tries.

See you suckers. I got in.

i know this is extremely late but i literally joined yesterday, but feel free to ignore this autistic newfag pebble on the road
i am however a long-time lurker here.

but i just wanted to say im really disappointed with the direction nijien has taken. im talking specifically about the type of people they're letting in to become their new talents

and frankly - speaking as a future applicant here for both companies (cover and anycolor), holostars en is looking like a better option rn. now don't get me wrong, i still wanna strive for a spot in both places,
it's just that i'm already dreading being a part of a future nijien wave based on the vibe i'm getting from ilusers, and it's turning me off big time. i really didn't mind feesh's shit that much and thank god (literally) for nina and her not following suit. but purple homo boy was the first huge red flag. now aia. i see a disturbing trend here.

because if by some miracle, a sewage rat like me gets accepted by anycolor, i am not looking
forward to june. something tells me that i might be held at gunpoint by my "potential colleagues"
if i don't say "happy pride month" or say the right pronouns.

i just hope that holostars en isn't like that in terms of the work environment,
literally would lose its appeal for me in an instant. from my limited understanding
at least holo roommates keep to themselves in that aspect with however they identify, prius and all.

if i do end up in nijien, i'd stick to my own bubble, because i can't imagine having your entire existence revolve around pandering to the fujo and troon masses, just to have their grimy money. i'll pick being a wagey over selling my soul.

hoping maybe the new niji wave will prove me wrong and they're not as bad as i'm making them out to be.

my two cents, rate me MATI and the like if you want
TL;DR nijien is becoming unappealing, from an applicant's pov unless you're a part of that "demographic"
You could always pull a Dream: pledge to donate all stream earnings of June to LGBT and then don't stream in the month of June.

Vtubing as a whole has enough variety that I'm generally okay with whoever hops in or whatever direction a company wants to take a new group since theirs already so many different chuubas that cater to different audiences and demographics (the Farms even has Pippa) which ends up making it easy to just stay in your own bubble of entertainment and ignore things you don't like.

Only real main concern is if the alphabet people getting accepted are genuinely lolcow material and end up shitting up the group their joining.

Like it was said on /vt/ and twitter when a (strikingly now deleted similar tweet convo) happened - The talents getting in are fine as it comes down to creativity and their ability to maintain an audience, especially in the EN coomerbait heavy sphere. NijiEN has been literally the same since the beginning. On the boy end, that is the only change. Lazulight played it safe being the first wave of a new branch, so outside of Finana's idiocy, nothing to really report on. Obsydia, basically the same. Ethyria filled with people who aren't trying to "play it safe" and are speaking honestly, as with all EN vtubers, they have their usual bs pandering in ways. The boys, specifically Vox and Mysta, are the ones that pander heavily. Wave 6 is turning out the same way, the only one that's "pandering" is Aia, and that's simply because she's making "I'm gay lol" her personality, like Uki did. None of them have debut'd yet to draw a conclusion on how they are, especially trying to compare Holostars En. Also no, none of the Holostars/NijiEN roommates "kept to themselves", many of them are actually toning themselves down due to, well, obvious reasons.

you all make very good points, i think i was just hung up on the worst case scenario considering that while i do think talents do fine solo, personally i think collabs and the chemistry are what draw people in. but holing yourself up in a corpo because you dont like what other people do is unrealistic since you'll have to interact with them at some point or another. and i've always known myself as someone quick to judge, but ill keep an eye on the wave 6 debuts nonetheless.
