Roko's Basilisk is bullshit derived from half understood pseudo-science, made by ingrate morons pretending to be geniuses. Then falling for their own bullshit and getting spooked by it.

Why would the basilisk care about retroactively punishing people? Its not like that would stamp out dissent any differently than just killing all current dissenters. In any scenario, the people remaining are going to resent the basilisk in some form which would mean it has to punish everyone or no one.

Roko's Basilisk concept is fucking gay because it inherently implies whoever programmed it made an artificial intelligence a vindictive cunt (which seems like something a tranny would do tbh).

That said, it tortures people by using a ransomware virus and holding PCs hostage until the user watches every Disney movie sequel.

Well, IT nerds are often vindictive cunts looking to get back at the Chads who bullied them. Why are Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab bent on world domination?

It also assumes the Basilisk has everything-proof shields, unlimited resources, and cannot simply be unplugged.
