General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Actually now that I think about it has any Twitch Vtuber outside Ironmouse even organized anything interesting? Like tournaments or something because I only see the ever present "Twitch Meta" streams (60% reaction content, 20% zatsu, and 20% actually playing a game).

She's a true believer, and right now their tide has shifted to "Hololive oppresses women and exploits them, vShojo allows them to express themselves." If you follow her career there's been a few times where she's made herself the annoying SJW busybody. Which is unfortunate, because some of her old school JRPG content is good.
They should ask Kson about trans rights to see that "talent freedom" at work :story:

If she does an open meltdown there's gonna be a lot of keno content.
She's not afraid to. I don't think it was documented well here, but around a year ago Final Fantasy 14 had a promotion to get a mount in game via gifting FFXIV Twitch Creators. You gifted a handful of subs to some streamers, and you get the mount. Square got nothing out of it seemingly, but a bunch of creators got TONS of money from it.

However, the controversy was it wasn't a "Anyone Playing FFXIV" promotion, but from a "This select group of people" playing FFXIV. Which A) included someone Squeenix had recently sponsored to play the game from the Wow community, AnnieFuschia, and B) In the eyes of "SOME" of the community, not enough "BIPOC" creators. So certain segments of the community lost their shit.

Shenpai was not on that list. So what did she do? Had a public forum on Twitch that basically amounted to an airing of grievances/struggle session. They were so up their own asses gassed up on outrage culture, they even had their Nightbot spewing this out in chat:

I'm not finding an archive of the stream unfortunately, because I think she realized how bad it looks to be publicly bitching about Squeenix's business practices in such an obvious way if you want to work with them in the future.

A very biased article talking about it from "her" side's perspective:

And a video from Bellular back then breaking down the numbers and such of how crazy this promotion was for a select few.

We're talking tens of thousands of gift subs to multiple streamers. I personally think quite a few of them were pissed at the amount of money being thrown around to "not them or their crowd" and they couldn't give two shits about the actual representation. They just saw the dollars.

Tl;dr: Basically this. She feels she deserved it more and Vtubers just happened to land on her radar in the crossfire.

Did Shen even follow up on what she said? Giant Rushia fanboy Koefficient had an emotional reaction being mad at Cover at first than after he cooled off and statements came out he basically turned around his statement and said the situation sucks but it's understandable if she got terminated for breaching NDA (which Mike would confirm is true 1 year later).
I think that was the official reaction by almost everyone given how quick the termination was. Indignation at how could a company kill their biggest cash cow.

They should ask Kson about trans rights to see that "talent freedom" at work :story:
I think the whole "talent freedom" will be evident whenever one of their orbiters falls out of line and the company forces all of the talents to throw that creator under the bus (Nux style).

It's always about the money.

Lumi doing a 50 song Karaoke stream. She is an amazing singer and I feel that her covers/songs go mostly unnoticed. She doesnt seem to fully know most of the Jp songs she is singing so there is some scuff.

I'm not sure if "interesting" is the right word but several from vshojo have had a few different charity relay type streams even before they were organized under the vshojo label, but that's about all I can remember. Zentreya has done a few marathons and put together a charity stream for immuno disorders, Melody did one for covid relief iirc, then they had a few as vshojo.

At one point the individual streamers from vshojo were all playing crab game tourneys with other streamers but I don't remember them ever turning it into any kind of larger competition or even making official collabs from it.

I know vtubers aspire to be idols and generally make idol music but I don't see the point in pretending I like the music even if I like the vtuber, if I like them it's generally going to be for their personality. I think music should be separate from the artist and if you can't seperate them you're going to see issues when your oshi goes outside the vtuber sphere like Calli getting roasted on tiktok.

If your comment was instead about my hate of The Beatles I stand by what I said and feel no need to justify my views.

Is Pippa a cutter or was this just part of the general disjointed conversational nature between them.
Yeah, during her AMA stream she said something along the lines of "I don't believe in self-harm... anymore." Chat started reminding her of THE PACT, because of course they fucking did.
the flare tour thing is the only thing I know of happening recently in ID streams

The bit from Ollie about people sharing her membership stuff could be people talking about her dead grandma which she only told her members about. I'm not sure about anything else that's been happening (i'll be honest I don't follow chat often when watching streams at most if I'm keeping an eye on it it's filtered to only show mods to show if any other holomembers are talking in chat)

As far as the boys go I don't think they'd be a source of any drama over there, the ID girls have long been hanging out with the stars and ID fans don't seem prone to seething over it the way JP and EN fans can be. And given the entire discussion was conducted in Indonesian I would assume the issues they were addressing were specific to ID viewers.
Ollie is generally quite angered by people leaking members' content, because her paywalled streams used to be her space to vent about a lot of shit in her life and now she feels she can't really do that anymore or someone will make a drama out of it. To be honest, I think it's for the better, because sometimes she'd forget that people in chat are not her friends nor her therapists. Those leaks help her keep her guard up. I'd love to see her collabing with holostars en, if only it wouldn't be goddamn Apex. Copium.
I'm still 15 pages behind, but I KNEW Pippa was onto something with the mold!
Do you think Pippa would jump on the GFE route if someone scrubbed her house clean? If that's the case, maybe it's better for both us and her that she allegedly has mycotoxicosis.

BTW 32 new pages since I've been here yesterday and it's all because two male vtubers debuted. You're such fucking faggots, just like me.

How else is she going to afford her Ginza shopping tr...I MEAN pay her for her food and bills! You guys, she's broke!!
Though unlike her MikeRushia phase, she can't farm gachi and vanish for basically a month. Sooner or later she's gonna groom the wrong people and we'll have a Rushia 2.0 situation without pesky NDAs getting in the way.

As a side tangent, what's with Asian women and water sports? I'm not sure if Airi is an Asian but the number of Asian women I've interactive with who are into watersports has convinced me that there's a pattern. Has anyone else notice this or am I just surrounded by freaks?

That whole event still gives me the biggest headache to this day legit the amount of ass sperg 3 view chimps that thought they deserved to be on there and the why is there no black people, the only black 14 creator at the time Sly who is hinted to be a massive creep from larger raiders was like a 100 viewers god, I like 14 it's a great casual MMO but the community does it's best to show it's rotten shit core anytime the boat gets rocked sours it at times for me.
But in less I want to Gas the next fanfest my gura nendoroid finally arrived and was actually pleasantly surprised by our MAG and saviour, Blue boy is a miss but honestly not worse (yes am late to party but wife and kids drain time)

Astel finds out what copium is and wants a constant supply. You can skip the second half of the clip, if you have PTSD about the love potion part.

Astel talks about and tries to imitate Regis' voice.

Astel answers who among the OG HoloStars is the scariest when angry. Apparently, Arurandeisu-papa can crush an apple when angry.

Am I late with this?
Apparently there is a heard of women who are mad at Pippa and her guest for calling western Idol LARPers fat and ugly, among other things.

She DID outright call out /cgl/ last night. That place is a hell hole.

Rie got to dictate a tweet on her account, poor wolfie.
Update: Was wrong, Airi confirmed that was the "Out of Character" tweet she had to send. Rie tweet still being workshopped.

That was a punishment tweet, she has another that is due. That was written by Rie and originated in Erina's cringy pickup line segment from one of her streams. Edit beat me to it.
