He won’t. One of the first things that happens when you first go to prison is the other inmates will do a full background check on you to make sure you’re not a pedo or a snitch. If your background’s clean then you’re told table you’ll sit at in the cafeteria.

You don't get put in segro unless you snitch on people that matter, he'll get easy time in a camp and should be able to do his bid without problems.

Question from a non-American who's never been in prison, with something that seems that extreme, are you allowed stuff like books or pen and paper? Or is it just you and the four walls, 23/7?

I think it varies from prison to prison. But you are allowed to have religious texts (and on a side note, Chris said he was able to get an Islamic prayer rug to keep himself warm at night). But I’ve seen ex-cons talk about having to use toilet paper rolls as pillows.

Another thing those ex cons mentioned is how if they ever found themselves in solitary they’d ask the guards for cleaning supplies because you never know if the last guy who had that cell spent his free time smearing shit on the walls.

if he pleads not guilty he doesn't have to answer any questions, you don't have to take the stand in your own trial. he took a plea deal so he is admitting guilt and agreeing to answer the feds' questions and give the feds access to his social media (assumed to include his stream inside the capitol which will help identify the people who were inside or further incriminate people) to shave time off his sentence

Assuming good behavior prisoners can usually purchase writing utensils & paper at the commissary. There is typically some sort of prison library. Prisoners can also get books that the prison doesn't object to sent to them via places such as Amazon so that nothing is slipped in with the book. Prisoners are limited on how many books they can have at any instance of time.
