General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I really don't get it why people are mad. If you are an idol, an actor, or any form of public performer, appearance is IMPORTANT. That's just the facts. Actors already get a lot of shit if they get fat, same with idols. There's no fatpeoplehate here, it's just how the industry works.
Heck, that's why Vtubers exist: to give fat and ugly people a chance to become public personas.

I guess OrangeWoman is mad

This is the -exact- reason why Western idols don't capture the appeal of Japanese idols. While the latter's obsessive fans can be a spectacle in their own right, the general idea behind an idol is they're supposed to make people smile, which is why they prioritise bringing joy to their fans rather than preaching about hot-button topics. A fat chick crying about "fatphobia" is the complete opposite of that.

Modern, Western 'tolerance' simply doesn't work in the entertainment industry, because no amount of equality points will make an unpleasant, miserable bitch entertaining to a wider audience. The kind of people bitching at Pippa and Nyaru over this clearly don't have the looks or the personality to be an idol, and would rather shift the blame than attempt to find other strengths to focus on.

EDIT: They're definitely seething about the stream in a group chat somewhere lmao

Western people, women in particular, are too bitchy and feel they're above industry standards. "Some of the most influential international idols are fat!" No, no they're not. Some of the world known and renown TV personalities who are chubby aren't 'idols', so it's just hilarious to get upset over something with a literal industry standard. Even going back to the boyband comment, if N-sync and whomever else were all fatfuck greasy nerds, no one would have loved them. That's ignoring the (most common) inability to do their dances and shit being out of breath 99% of the time.

>"you don't belong in the X community"
>t.person who has nothing to do with X community and is just a hanger-on or secondary

Put her to the sword, inshallah.
Prime examples of why gatekeeping is a good thing, and the only way to keep your community safe from these fucking pests.
This is why the whole "Educate Yourself" from Finnana to me felt a bit like a red flag. When one of the bigger corpos starts showing signs of it, I have to assume that the virus has already spread from inside and unless management tells them to cut that shit out, it will end up blowing up in their face.

This story actually become even funnier if you look at his travel pictures while in his Vegas: riding a dick-shaped bull ride, posing with hookers/nude dancers, posing getting spanked at that heart attack restaurant
I wonder if RPR gets the same with his proplayer-followers when he suddenly appears in a Pekora cosplay on stream.

I believe there is a case of a fat idol group and of a older women idol group in japan but im not too sure how well they seem to be doing currently (for all I know they disbanded). There are groups taht will stray from the norm and appeal to a more niche audience. I love how these type of people want the exceptions to be the rule. Also what the fuck is she mad about again? Isn't she retired? She's mad that someone that doesn't know about the idol culture is asking questions to someone who is currently a part of it?

That happened when the culture shifted into giving everyone a participation medal.

Now to see if they harass Fishman into taking the video down. Would be nice to see them try it and for Fishman to tell em to grow the fuck up.

There is a small group of seething retards who email fishman about every little thing Pippa does in an attempt to get her in trouble or fired.
He probably already has a spam filter for pink rabbit complaints.

Didn't that chick just open for one of Karen's shows?

Well, at least she isn't one of the retards complaining about Karen being a white woman rapper, I guess.

Pomu taking things into her own hands since Anycolor doesn't know how to produce any merch that doesn't involve acrylic.

The thing that strikes me is I don't even think being fat is a death knell in itself (assuming they know how to dress for their size as Pippa alluded to toward the end of the stream - no-one wants to see a fat chick in a short skimpy dress, Jesus fucking Christ) - but their presence on-stage and in public needs to be pleasant, they have to be likable.

Perspective helps too. Real idols deal with all kinds of unhinged threats, stalkers, abusers etc., yet still stay positive and put on the best shows they can for their fans. If two girls calling you fat on a livestream is your tipping point then this is not the industry for you.

What a strange world where the girls "hiding" behind a screen as western vtuber idols are mostly average - cute girls and the girls trying to become real western idols are the chubby fat ones that could benefit from hiding their faces and body's.

Also just to add to the fat people only like someone cause they are fat and hate them once they lost weight comment earlier. When Adele lost weight her fat community said they felt betrayed and that she was a sell out. Same thing happened to Lizzo after
losing a few pounds (like 15 at most) and mentioned thinking about losing more. Just the fucking thought of their "fat queen" losing weight is enough for them to spiral.

Well that's terrifying. Condemning the person whom they liked just because they got healthier. Yes losing weight when your fat is considered being healthy and taking care of yourself, saying otherwise is just someone's cope for one's appearance.

I don't know of any fat idol groups but Nana Mizuki a famous Seiyuu whose also part Idol is currently married, had a child recently, and is 42 years old and is still doing concerts and such.
