General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

GW are such fucking kikes, they even make EA blush with their outright hatred for their fanbase.

also, not alucard decided to make a stream. i dont watch male v-tubers normally but i decided to give him a chance

stream starts
yawns
refuse to elaborate
stream ends

off to a good start.

Wasn't really interested in the male ENs other than some passing morbid curiosity during their debuts but this fucking boomer right here seems to be the most interesting and comfy of the bunch. I was out for lunch, checked youtube, saw his zatsu stream and decided to stream it during the drive home and this motherfucker talks like a chill, old-school FM noontime radio host. Has a lot of pretty based interests in manga/anime as well and his joke at the end about Axel not being stupid but just has a brain that's like "a single core processor that's fast and has really high clock speed but just can't multi-thread for shit due to lack of cores" carried over really well with chat.

EDIT:
TImestamp on his Axel joke (58:12):

Did Pippa say anything bad? or was it all her guest and Pippa just laughing?

Pippa kept it entertaining throughout considering the subject matter. The part that has some people mad is that they explained that /cgl/ is a board of seething women, the fats and uglies got mad when they were talking about western vs. Japanese/idol beauty standards. https://youtu.be/uHcgBxCB2tk?t=5504
Pippa was brutally honest about how the west has no standards and just wants all the praise with none of the work. Her guest cried a little but praised Pippa for saying the thing everyone was thinking but didn't want to say and how when she tried alluding to it at all people tried to cancel her like always happens. They also brought up Pixie Terry and other stuff.

In other words, Pippa buck broke the person she was interviewing again but in a good way.

I like how she has the luck to have collabed/opened with a HololiveEN member whose identity is an open secret and she still struggles to crack 200 likes and 2k followers

Anyone who actually knows the anglo-con sphere are there actually western idols that are popular? As far as i know its usually the cosplay hoes who get famous off con scenes, not performers

Spicland only has cover bands as far as con performers go

I haven't worked with anyone in the con sphere in a while but I don't remember them really being a thing, but vtubers weren't a thing either back then. From what the girl said they all basically stick to a small region and don't really travel beyond their territory, so they're essentially smaller than a bunch of the people in the dealer room who have a larger region of influence or appearance.

Orcvamp wants to stream at 10AM PST but apparently, management wants him to stream at 10PM PST. He was scared that if he streams at 10PM for the first couple of weeks then switches to 10AM "whenever management forgets about him", his viewers won't be used to it so they reached a compromise where he does chatting streams at 10AM but still has to also stream at 10PM.

It's good eu time, so perhaps that is also a factor?

Holo-EN seriously neglects the mid-day USA / afternoon/evening Europe hours. Having someone help fill that hole won't do anything but help IMO.

Wait, wanted?
How fucking selective is the process for h game voice acting that Kronii couldn't make the cut?
I don't remember if she shared this story as Kronii or Dotovu, but she talks about one time she met one of her voice acting heroes/inspirations and asked them for their opinion on her work via a demo reel, and the person point blank said Kronii was fucking terrible to her face. She made it sound like it seriously messed with her confidence in voice acting for a VERY long time.

Edit:
Basically, they were talking about wanting to stick to the idol concept in the west by mimicking the culture in Japan and Pippa said that they are not even doing that right since most of them are fat. How many fat idol groups do you have in Japan? Where is the lie? I feel like the reality of it hit a bit too close to home.

I just thought - did Pippa in a roundabout way accuse them of cultural appropriation? Fucking lol.

However you feel about Tempus, there is one silver lining that stands out to me.

At least Nux didn't get in.
That wouldve been absolute cancer. "I will give $1000 to this streamer to read a hentai quote" streams.

El Ogre Del Afroamerican is still going in Pippa's comments.

Overall she seems not as retarded but still extremely butthurt. Not because what was said was wrong but because the people around her are also butthurt therefore as an idol she has to act or comment on behalf of her offended fans/peers. While she has a point that Vtubing did come out from idol culture its absurd to think that vtubers will stick to acting and performing like idols. Hell most of Nijisanji is not "idol" focused. Yes they have their "idol" talents and they have "idol"-like performances but thats about as far as it goes.

Overall thats a pretty stupid fucking take. If you are an evolution of X thing, why the fuck would you also take with you the shitty/toxic parts of it. Also the negativity is mostly aimed at Western Idol culture, not JP.

Edit I take back what I said, she went full retard:

anglo-con sphere
Anglo cons are small in scale and are insular enough to have the same people running things behind the scenes. My limited knowledge from knowing someone who is a con person is that its all cosplayer focused with the drama you would expect from the crowd it would attract. Even my weeb ass didn't even know there was a big enough "idol" culture here.
