General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

If they're gonna start getting into Zomboid Holo or Niji should pick up Nurse, I'd kill for a Nurse + Kronii stream.

Weird if she wanted to be a Western VA, it's like being a game dev: pay is shit and most of the people are talentless and insufferable. Whoever shit on her probably did her a favor career wise.

New Holo EN debut, mostly bros except for blue guy that talks like he's doing a homo ASMR at all times (except when he sings.) Magni is Lando, Noir is an old man with based old man media tastes who used to be some orc vtuber, orange guy is Australian.

Miko/Matsuri/Pekora fighting in Rust. Pippa angered some fatties by saying there weren't Western idols, fatties proceed to sperg and comment on her videos about how beautiful their corpulent masses are.

Oh and someone is apparently saying there's porn of Kson and she thought it was a good idea to respond to it to "own the haters".
We got a twink, a fleshtuber who shitposts by trade, a furry Aussie, and a dudebro former 2view. Their first collab stream felt like listening in on some friends shooting the shit over voice-chat.

As a side note, they talked so much in each others’ debut its kind of insane how many messages my filter caught.
Lulu got a new live2D and her name is something something I forgot. She still going to fleshstream on the same channel.
Pippa interviewed a former IRL western idol, ruffled the fat feathers of /cgl/ and some twitter fatties are upset about it and trying to raise a big stink.
Amiya Arana is going on vacation for a week or so.
Kobo hit 1M and the thread's numberfaggots have to remind us about it.
Vox Akuma hit 1M subs and the thread's mouthbreather numberfaggots have to remind us about it.
Matuli has become sort of a kingpin joker in Rust.
Rushia has been found to be retaking her GFE activities, this time in Vshojo.
NijiEN wave... I've lost count is debutting today, with what many think is possibly the first ES dedicated chuuba.
HolostarsEN debut... was not a failure and in some instances exceeded expectations.
Gura's fanbase are still the sludge waste of the internet.
Holostar en debut. you can probably skip 50 pages, when people start live chatting , also some sperging was caused by their shitty models
Quick rundown -
regis altare : blue boi - korean, pretty boy, does the "wah" stick like ina also a singer(?).
magni dezmond : aka professor lando (https://www.youtube.com/c/ProfessorLandon/videos) Had a lot of hype due to alot of magposting on /vt/ (mostly Magged/blacked memes) . Seems to be the memer and artist of the group.
Axel Syrios: aussie + singer + speaks japanese
Noir Vesper aka the orc vtuber https://www.youtube.com/c/RandonNeuring/videos . Old man, seems quite good at zatsudan. I recommend you watch his debut because it is genuinely entertaining.
New niji en wave Iluna will debut soon . They look good (but they appear to be quite thirsty and pozzed).
chumbuds on /vt/ doxxed and tried to groom some underage girl.
pippa released her song (she changed it now but she uploaded it as a bait and switch with the title crying baby compilation- or something).
Various miscellaneous stuff; like Calli had a concert and debuted a new wigger 3d model during it - or new outfits for towa luna, or cover has released the horror game ERROR.
Wow, wasn't expecting this many responses so soon and detailed as well. I appreciate all that wrote stuff out for me to read, should catch up soonish and be back to same old shit.

The best part of this is with Pippa's terminal imposter syndrome, having Lia, Uruka, Lumi, and Lisa outright tell her how much the song fucking slaps on stream and Pippa cringing to death is too fucking Kino.

@Azchan clip idea for you. "Pippa being embarrassed by her friends complimenting her song."

The impostor syndrome part is what makes the song even more relatable.

There is another TT interview with a bilingual JP/EN VA and it is mentioned there won't be open auditions a lot of the time.

Seems like a pretty shit industry to try and break into.
Less of a comment on VAs and more on the industry itself:
This does make sense though. Different studios, both JP and EN, tend to pull from the pool they already have or connecting talent agencies because
  • the VA will already have a decent track record by that point so that avoids a risk of hiring a total flop
  • hiring a well-known VA for your project = instant fans checking out your project just because of the VA alone
In the case of Uchida Shu, it's genuinely a very lucky break. She's had a couple supporting roles in the past but nothing too big aside from maybe Asobi Asobase, and it's probably harder as a hafu to prove you're good at voicing a JP character. Love Live/Kadokawa over the years though has been hiring newer and newer people into their pool, even opening up public auditions for anyone to join, even those without a talent agency because A) it fits the series' themes and B) they're a big enough series that one crappy VA won't really do much compared to like a newly produced anime that's just coming out for the season. Not a lot of other companies tend to do open auditions or choose from more indie pools for the reasons stated above being just the easier , fool-proof way to go about it so it makes that even just finding open auditions for stuff is hard. It's a lot of hard work and it's genuinely really cut throat.

The first time I heard it I wasn't that into it, as it sounded like she was rather nervous and didn't have the flow of her normal karaoke songs, but hearing her talk about the production of it and listening to it again I think it's grown on me.

Idk how I did it with a massive hangover.. this is the price I pay for touching grass and getting absolutely shitfaced.
Re debuts:
orange aussie aka Axel seems like an ok dude, furry hole he dug himself into tho.. well.. and I kinda tuned him out real quick like I did blueboi

idk why I was expecting maybe a younger Bill Nighy for Noir but hey, Orcdad works (the deep/bass of his voice threw me a bit because of his design). His enthusiasm and ability to just hold attention for the most random of shit, even on tangents, points for that.

Magni and Noir are the only debut archives I really watched, Regis and Axel I just skipped around. Tells you who has my attention. Like the thread has pointed out, 3 of them are bros, one is a bait for the fujos (possibly). One of them is a meme machine (and is paying for his hubris likely :story: ), the other just is really excited and has somehow brought the thread to approve of him (I was thinking about Oji Love and resident tard wrangler @5t3n0g0ph3r beat me to it, it has my vote).

Re covers released:
Regis' cover gives me strong JPOP-Rock vibes and is gonna be the one to appeal mostly to the ladies, Axel's was aite but its too soon to pass more scores

Re collab:
poor Axel is literally googuru translate, Regis for the supposed leader is eh? Nerves maybe? Magni and Noir again carrying the gen I feel

Re Noir's chatting stream:
damn, that was pretty zen with some moments of excitement. Glad @Piplup got her oshi back. Remember to support and cherish em!
Final verdict on Holostars EN:
Nemesis/10 or a S.T.A.R.S/10

I am very surprised that the thread is pretty supportive (I guess it finally helps that a male vtuber group debut is not fujobait). And it's gonna be hardpressed to have the thread avoid using the terms we have long been using to derisively refer to male vtubers pandering to the female senses.. but what do I know? I'm a goddamn cis straight male incel aren't I :story:

Interesting to hear there was some fan drama around the Rust stuff earlier although it's not very surprising. I was bouncing around the live streams for it earlier as it was happening and all I can say is Pekora basically got force fed the consequences of her own actions.

She started her stream C4ing a hole in the roof of Matsuri's house and emptying one of her storage chests before running off while Matsuri was doing another stream.

Matsuri had been present in Pekoras prechat (she messaged during it) so it's possible she heard her talking about her plans to fuck around. so later when Matsuri logged on and saw the damage to her base and the missing things she immediately suspected Pekora and went to her base to enact revenge.

During that time Pekora had already moved on to her next target and was working on blowing a hole in Suisei's roof to rob her as well. All the while Pekora is talking to her chat about how she's going to "teach these girls Rust is not a world where you get along, it's about betrayal and fighting"

Suiesei at some point in this fucks with and gets Miko after her, Suisei returns home and in a coincidence both Pekora and Miko are trying to attack Suisei's base at the same time, Miko attacks first and is very quickly dispatched by Suisei, Pekora sneaks up on to her roof during this time and plants C4 to open the roof up. Pekora ends up blaming Miko for the C4 and explosions and says she was just passing by and stopped by to see what was happening.

Suisei keeps toying with Miko and Pekora takes this chance to slip back to her base to re-arm and come back to finish the robbery when Matsuri arrives for revenge and (details unclear I didn't watch Pekora's POV during this time) Matsuri seems to have rolled Peko and took all of her explosives away minus a single piece of C4.

At this point the 4 of them all gather "peacefully" to chat, meeting at Suisei's base and Suisei finally gets her voice coms working in game. somewhat standoff atmosphere with all 4 of them inside Suise's house, Pekora very visably obvious in the fact that she's snooping through the house to scope it out, and rummaging through storage chests, Suisei spots her doing this several times. When the group goes to leave Suisei doesn't trust that Peko hasn't stolen something from one of the boxes she was looking in, so shoots her in the head to check her body to ensure nothing was stolen. The 4 then go to pekora's, and pekora gives each of them some ammunition, they then head toward Miko's.

It turns out Miko has stolen from the others, and at this point they turn on her, kill her and trap her in her house, she bunkers down and the other 3 begin smashing things to climb in her windows and kill her some more. Pekora again slips away, planning to go home and get her rocket launcher to come back and "blow everyone up and teach them that Rust is not a world where we can all get along" (minor note at some point in these 4 person travels Fubuki also joined the group but is only a minor player, at one point at Miko's she's killed by a stray grenade from Matsuri)

Peko returns home and then realizes she's been followed by Matsuri (I believe this is the point of the stream sniping claim, I think Pekora said something in that moment along the lines of "I forgot she was watching my stream" probably referencing Matsuri being present in her pre talk. Nothing happens at this point and Matsuri ends up leaving Pekora.

Pekora begins to make her way back, all the while she's talking to her chat about how she's about to show these girls "the way of the world" and that you can't trust anyone in Rust, she also for some reason decides to leave t he party or in game group or whatever, and it's noticed and the others immediately become suspicious noticing it. Pekora arrives back at Mikos, and is instantly gunned down and Miko takes all of her belongings, Pekora returns again, and is instantly gunned down once again. She'd basically made herself suspect by dropping group so and the group of girls she wanted to teach not to trust others, didn't trust her, so they declared her "kill on sight" and she was fed a healthy dose of her own medicine.

So she didn't even really accuse matsuri of "stream sniping", but just mentioned she was on her stream at some point and that alone send vt into a spiral of sperging out?

Friendly fire

basically yeah, and ultimately even if we just assume "matsuri was stream sniping" it's difficult to criticize her for it when Pekora pulled the equally cowardly move of robbing matsuri's house while matsuri was doing another stream, attacking when she knew there was zero chance matsuri could defend herself. (even attacking someone during random downtime carries the risk of them possibly showing up, but during a stream Peko knew that there was zero risk)

It's all part of the game though, and at the very least from that Matsuri sub account tweet linked earlier I do see a lot of Peko fans (with her oshi mark) replying and saying it was a fun stream and they hope they do more. So I don't think there's TOO much bad blood there.

In the streaming world an accusation of "stream snipping" is like the ultimate salt, but since Pekora never actually did that, then its just people creating drama over nothing. They've all been blowing each other up for days, so hopefully they are all having fun and talking it out privately if something ever bothers them

Bonus Matsuri:

Iluna debut song is the worst offender I've heard in terms of autotune abusing, and I've heard Sana's part in ochame kinou
Really does sound like a top 40 charter; there's some obvious quality to it, but it doesn't really stand out in any notable way, especially with the potential autotune. Sorta just sounds like what you'd hear if you turned on the radio and changed to some random station. MV probably won't change shit, but I'll give that a look anyway.

Ame just said "Studio Ame" has been booked for the 31st JST. Looks like Sana's graduation will be some kind of VR event.

Edit: Armando Watson possibly going to be doing another Karaoke soon.
Couldn't get the day off for an intended vacation so I might miss the stream if it's at night, hopefully it's in the morning
