I can't believe my first post here after 3 years of lurking is going to be about TJ, but I've honestly felt like writing this out for a while. I had been watching TJ since probably around 2011 or so, and it's just fucking sad to see what has become of him now.

TJ is an asshole. Always has been and always will be. Back in the early days of his channel, on videos you can now only find on old archive channels, he never really tried to hid this fact in any real way. On the contrary actually, he relished in it. He would mock and make fun of many different groups of people: the religious, feminists, gays, trannies. Nothing was really off limits to him back then, and I think a great deal of it comes down to him thinking that the whole Youtube thing was just a passing fad, so he'll have his fun, scam a bit of cash (RV trip), and when it all ends he'll find another avenue to express his angst.

That didn't happen however. Youtube proved immensely popular and TJ ended up carving himself out a nice little spot. Soon, it became a job for him, and while he wasn't as batshit insane as he was back in 2006-2008, he still kept that general "fuck everyone" attitude, just a little more toned down. TJ at this point wasn't really grifting. He made videos about what he wanted to and got paid from ads. Yeah, there was some e-begging over the years, and that money was mostly wasted. But most of it was down to him being retarded and overestimating his ability to handle large projects (Not Productive, Free Speech Vids), rather than scamming IMO.

Then, as the era of Gamergate rolled around, TJ (who had already made several anti-feminist videos in the years prior) fit right into the crowd of anti-SJWs that emerged from the drama. Quickly recognizing an opportunity, TJ rapidly shifted his content to adopt a slightly more right-wing slant as he directed his attention to making fun of the SJW retards that had emerged from the recesses of the internet. TJ now likes to contextualize this period of his history as a simple grift: he was pandering to the right-wing and just parroting their talking points back to them for money and attention. This is very true in many respects. I remember watching videos from this era where TJ was very clearly reading from a script in front of him and trying to make it sound natural. This was incredibly weird to me at the time as I was used to him simply spewing things off the cuff and cutting it into context to make sense. However, TJ at his very core was still doing what he had always done: make fun of retards. He even began the Drunken Peasants Podcast (RIP) at this time: a show basically dedicated 100% to laughing at retards.

While TJ was adopting a slight grift to pander to a right-wing audience, most of what he was saying he genuinely believed. He was generally level headed and espoused that people should see nuance rather than just be reactionary retards. He slung plenty of shit at the right at this time as well, making fun of republicans on the Drunken Peasants and getting into spats with other Anti-SJWS like AIU, whom he accused of being racist.

2019 however, was where the tide turned. This video is what began the change we see in TJ today. On the surface, it was a video TJ had made many times before: making fun of a stupid list written by a moron. But this time he triggered two people who he considered friends: Hugo and Jake from the Bible Reloaded. The pair had been on the Drunken Peasants many times. They were a milquetoast left-wing channel that made fun of religion and right-wing reactionaries like Jordan Peterson, but were not really SJW in any real way. This changed in 2019 however when Hugo trooned out and turned himself into a beautiful, lovely, woman. TJ has always been accepting of trans people and congratulated Hugo for it, however he would often make fun of 'transtrenders', and I recall him saying multiple times on the Drunken Peasants that the only way to be trans was to have gender dysphoria. Having this opinion makes you a Nazi now, but back then it was the prevailing left-wing opinion. Even most SJWs at the time (except the most virulent, who ended up becoming the majority) agreed with it.

Hugo and Jake, having now slanted far-left, call out TJ and invite him onto a stream to defend himself. The VOD is long since lost to time, but I remember watching it and seeing TJ trying to defend himself. Whereas the TJ of the past would have laughed in their faces, called Hugo a tranny faggot, and moved on with his life. The TJ of the time seemed shocked that his friends were turning against him and the stream was a simpering embarrassment. What's important about this however, is that TJ learned something very important that day:

The age of the Anti-SJW was over.

This content was no good anymore. Youtube was cracking down. His 'friends' were turning against him. It was time for a change. In 2020, TJ then had a conversation with Vaush, and that sealed the deal for him. His new focus would be pandering to the left-wing, much like he pandered to the right-wing many years ago. In the stream, he talked to Vaush about how he was a horrible grifter back in those days. About how most of the things he said he didn't believe and was just trying to make money from a right-wing audience. He was going to turn things around, he was going to be his true self now. Almost everyone bought it, except for a few people who saw it for the bullshit it was. They were the minority however. It turns out people who watch breadtube don't tend to be the most intelligent lot. As their various hero content creators embraced TJ. Most of them did as well.

The nuance was gone now. Now for TJ, every trans person was valid. Pronouns should be respected. No more jokes about retards. No more edgy humor. The only acceptable targets were the right-wing. Over this time, his co-host on his new podcast, PaulsEgo, was also becoming increasingly unhinged. What was once an entertaining man with a sharp wit let his depression and doomerism consume him, and he spent his days banning people from his hugbox livestreams and spewing retarded takes on twitter. TJ began increasing espousing talking points he would have vehemently disagreed with just a few years prior. But it was alright now, because he was a changed man. He recognized and apologized for his wrongs, and was now on the right side of history.

The only problem is, that it was all a fucking lie.

TJ is still the same asshole he was 15 years ago. He still looks at the weirdo trannys and faggots infesting the left today and finds them to be retarded embarrassments. He still thinks that the bullshit around pronouns is stupid. He still thinks that people should stop taking themselves too seriously and that they're not special snowflakes who are hecking valid. He's just lying, because that's the only way he can stay relevant now.

Even when he was in his right-wing grift stage, TJ always hated republicans and made fun of them. Now however, he exaggerates this to an extreme and avoids all nuance in the conversation to pander to the left-wing Vaush drones that comprise his audience now. The result is that he has become unwatchable to the majority of his old audience, which is why his view count has plummeted and only a small group of sycophants remain. His main channel content is unwatchable. His podcast Deep Fat Fried is unwatchable because PaulsEgo, who is somehow crazier than he is now, will sperg about politics and ragepig about the slightest dissent in the chat. It is genuinely sad how pathetic the whole downfall has become, especially going back and watching old episodes of the Drunken Peasants where the guys were saying things that they'd call themselves Nazis over now.

There is a silver lining however. As the troon tide begins to turn, as the insanity we've seen over the last two years begins to wind down. TJ may soon recognize that his current grift is not sustainable, and may return to his old content and genuine opinions in time. I fear however that the damage has been done, and what I believe was once a fucking weird, degenerate, but otherwise entertaining personality will be lost to mediocrity forever.

And honestly, it's probably what he fucking deserves.

If you want to see TJ at probably the realest he's ever been, this video from 2018 when the Anti-SJW stuff was dying and his channel was losing direction is probably the most genuine expression of his opinions that he has put to video. He claims he wasn’t mad at that, but at something else Sitch said, but he proceeded to rant about scripting being legit. He’s grifting again, the exact same way, to his new audience. Constantly backpedaling, constantly saying "muh hyperbole," "c'mon man I was just joking around," blah blah blah. The worst part was when he actually defended his comments about Republicans all being racist and his evidence being "well I live near a lot of them and I hear them say slavery should come back." And when everyone called him out on it, he doubled down. It was fucking embarrassing.

TJ, I know you're probably reading this, so I'll say it right now: you're a liar. Nobody believes you. I've lived in the south my whole life. I come from a family of conservative Republicans. My home is in one of the reddest districts of my state. And before anyone discounts me, no, I'm not a Republican, not that that should really matter. I have never, in my entire life, ever heard anyone say anything close to that. In fact, I'd wager that if anyone ever did say that in public, they would run out of town on a fucking rail faster than you could shove a banana up your ass.

The plethora of anecdote is not evidence. You could get a conservative to say "I live in New York City and everyone talks about killing whitey" and it would carry just as much weight. The difference is you have proven yourself over and over and over again to be a liar and a grifter. You've said it more times than I care to count, but you will parrot any talking point, left or right, if you think it will get you attention and money. What I find interesting is that he expects people to at all take anything he says seriously after he says that. How are we supposed to believe that you aren't grifting with this cause? The only thing we have to base this on is your word, which you have admitted yourself to being unreliable.

The budget Undoomed guy says that he believe TJ is being honest because his shift to the far-left has lost him a great amount of his audience, so it doesn't make sense as a grift. The problem is that he's ignoring the fact that following the Adpocalypse, Youtube began to throttle the anti-SJW style content in the algorithm, and made much of it ineligible for monetization. This only got worse over the next couple of years when they began banning people instead of just throttling/demonetizing. He was hemmoraging views long before his switch. That type of content was no longer profitable and was dangerous to produce, that's why he stopped doing it. They do long (like 9 or 10 hr streams) and they were coming up on 10hrs by the time TJ got on, so that might be why.
