  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I always knew that garfield was a sketchy dude.
That would have been good for my edit, but I am far too dumb, tired, and lazy to make my image any better.

This would have ruined the mood of their little orange cat cult in an instant:

Rosemi 2.0 is doing her 2.0 debut. She's cute as hell and still super nervous but atleast she's not crying. Good numbers (i know its 2nd day).
Maria did also clarify her languages, for those of you wondering. She speaks Mandarin and Shanghainese.

Shanghainese is a bit of a dying dialect these days - there's a decent amount of speakers, but it's rare for the younger generation to pick it up and most of them end up either barely conversationally fluent or speak in a blended Shanghainese-Mandarin pidgin. That's kind of the case for most Chinese dialects, but it's especially noticeable with Shanghainese because there's been mass immigration from the countryside to urban areas in recent years and much of the city is now non-native transplants. Pity, really, since it's (in my humble but biased opinion) one of the prettiest Chinese dialects.

If I remember correctly, there's a pretty big Shanghainese immigrant community in Sydney. Would fit, considering Maria's Australian.

All these 2.0 streams really prove that cramming all new talents' debut streams on one day is not exactly a very good idea, especially if you have SIX of them. None of them would have enough time to fully present themselves to the audience
I personally prefer the hour long ones 25 min is too short to get a good feel but some here like the short ones and skip the 2.0s so i guess the way niji does it is a best of both worlds situation for those who want the short and those who prefer more time
It's this girl, right? Seems pretty much exactly the same. Don't think she's doing a character at all.

Oh yeah that is 100% her i just watched her lose her sanity (making the same kinds of voices when chat bullied her) gambling in genshin
She also has done mixing videos with themes just like she intends to do in Niji
And her final video was legit saddening to watch she clearly loved her fanbase tho there are plenty of forbidden knowledge peeps in the comments who recognized her in debut some even outright said Scarle so thats good for them
Bonus the vid is mostly a clip of her and her friends in VR chat and Pomu makes a cameo as one of the skins used and Ami shouts her out

After her fateful encounter with gura, she's not going to toss quartz into the dumpster.
Sugar mommy Kaela to the rescue

Hey, you could be right. But don't mistake annoyance for aggression, and don't let her off the hook so easily. I don't follow her career with a microscope. If you're happy with her actions and didn't mind her long and worrisome period of no communication as to her activities, that's great! Support your Oshi.

But I recall there being many people haunting her Twitter ceaselessly, wishing they knew what happened to their Tenshi, with zero knowledge of her future. This went on for months. I also recall myself once asking here "Hey, whatever happened to that Uto girl? Anyone know?" and literally no one had a clue. Who does that to their fans? How hard is it to just say "Oops, unexpected hiatus, guys! Will explain later, may be gone for a bit!"? That's all it would have taken. She didn't even do that.

A small sample of the messages on her last Twitter post. Note the many worried people, wondering if she's sick, and if she'll ever return at all:

Can you imagine Pikamee, IronMouse or Pomu just...mysteriously disappearing like that, for months on end with absolutely no explanation or warning whatsoever? You can't because, well, they happen to be professionals.

Uto spend a very long time cultivating her fan base, and it was quite a struggle for her to grow her image and fame to what it was. I feel that she could have taken five entire minutes to tell her fans that she might not be around, that life stuff or whatever had come up, just to ease any concerns. Letting your fans worry for that long just reeks of unprofessionalism, or maybe even callous disregard. I highly doubt she was bound and gagged in Pippa's basement.

People here go batty when Calli is perceived as being even slightly unprofessional. Maybe sometimes it is deserved, maybe sometimes not. But she isn't automatically exempt from criticism either, and neither is Uto (or anyone else for that matter). I personally expect better from someone who wants to be seen as a reliable and respected entertainer. Disagree with me all you want; I'm not saying she's pure evil Artia-level trash here or whatever. But she owes an enormous apology to all her fans, and she better provide one...and maybe, I don't know, not do dumb stuff like that in the future? Maybe to prevent a steep decline like this:

Maybe one of my personal pet peeves is unprofessionalism. Maybe she does have a valid excuse for all that stuff. But if you do truly care about your fans, you don't abandon them for months without a single word. I think that's an insult to anyone who made her as popular as she is/was.

Respect your loyal fans, or you just don't deserve them: that is what I personally believe. But hey, feel free to disagree with that sentiment! Stickers and pitchforks go down below, as you well know.
Fair, this seems a lot more reasonable. And I better understand you as this seems more thought out. Also while I understand the behavior I want to say I do think it was messed up and wrong and I hope she explains what happened and apologizes. I want to make it clear that understanding why someone did something is not excusing the behavior. I do think that she should've explained at least a little bit about why she was gone and why she'd be absent; she could've done that in March stream. " just reeks of unprofessionalism," Unprofessionalism and paranoia I'd say.

VOD's gone but apparently Charlie said or showed something about Sonny Brisko being TF2ber-death-faker Sketchek? Anyone know if this turned into a problem?
Looking at it more deeply, even VOD archivers don’t have this particular vod (June 23-24, 2022, based on the time on the bottom right). One channel even has the stream before and after this. What in the heck got discussed to get this particular vod scrubbed out entirely?

I don't entirely disagree but 6 x 1h debuts would have been too much workload on Selen and Alban (or whoever hosts the SP) and 6h is generally too much time to ask someone to set aside in their day to watch new V-Tubers.

You could alleviate this by splitting the debuts up across days but that would come at the cost of the SP all together and Niji would lose its ability to keep directing people from debut to debut to song.

All in all though ILUNA have been the most successful NijiEN wave launch ever so I don't think it's been that big of a deal. Ren has already gone past 200K with Scarle and Maria about to pass it. The rest will probably be there before the week is out. The plan generally worked out for them.

It's subtitled!!
Probably from lyger
Edit: Many youtaites have been making transitions to Vtubing because it seemed like a natural progression from them and they have a higher chance of possibly getting into agencies considering their already pre-existing backgrounds in content creation (singing, drawing, animating, music creation etc), some of which can go as far back as the early 2010s. It's only a question of whether they can keep to a strict schedule of actually streaming or just fade into procrastination.
Watch Figaro, she is really good
Just started and chat asking about pronouns.
"She/Her/They/Them"

Oh boy, it starts.

How long until she starts talking about eating the rich and bashing the fash?
I had to post this when I saw it in the wild

8k now. Does having a voiced appearance in Gura's stream really make her incline this much? Her last MC stream peaked at 6k but only momentarily.

Update: Wait stream died.

Probably a combination of people discovering her through all the ID visiting streams after the merge. Her house of Elytra and Dragon Heads got clipped a lot on top of Gura's reaction.

Since the thread has mostly moved on and I don't really want to dredge it up too much other than to get a final word in, spoilering this.

I don't think anyone outside of the other thread ever said it was literally the entire community. and the people that do it in the other thread pretty obviously do so in bad faith.

Ya'll are weirdly defensive about this shit in a way that I'll never understand. no one thought literally all 4 million+ of her subscribers went and harassed that 15 year old, it's supposed to be the "no shit" assumption that doesn't need to be explained as just a basic assumption. gura's fanbase containing weirdos is hardly a new topic or are we now going to play the no true scottsman game and say "well we don't know for sure a chumbud made the Gura fuck doll"

Fans get defensive when they feel attacked, /vt/ 101. It's just surprising to some that maybe, just maybe some people who watch gura, follow gura and specifically flooded a gura impersonator from the dedicated gura thread may be part of...gura's fanbase. Nah that'd weird, need a verification system.

Stop. In "almost" every fanbase the spergs and weirdos are a minority, this is not an argument. Fandoms are not created equal, some have more "bad apples" than others. Is the fact that, /uoh-global/ existed or that in every /ggg/ there are at least a dozen lolicon post followed by "uohhh" and c-word posts, not giant red flags? Why is it so disingenuous and retarded to assume that these same people would not jump at the chance to groom an irl loli? (*especially if evidence and archives point to them directly)
It is not in bad faith to blame a fandom for the actions of a sizeable and loud minority. It is their fault for not gatekeeping hard enough.

@You're an idiot response below is pretty much my beef and a good explanation/summary.

That's the crux of the issue. It is most certainly not safe to assume that given the chance 'they' would groom an actual teenager. I am a Gura fan, and I would never do that. I am membered to her and have bought her merch, and I post in her threads as well. So now what are you supposed to think? Equating the real life abuse or attempted abuse of children to uoh posting over Gura is pretty far gone and entirely removed from reality. Just saying it's the same thing doesn't make it true at all. If the fans are as bad as you say, and if the uoh posting does equal irl consequences within the larger Gura fanbase specifically, then you should have no trouble finding me documented examples where people have been directly hurt by those actions, and I don't mean just a handful of truly bad people like it was in this situation (which I already mentioned has actually turned into people trying to get her to stop associating with /vt/), but full on, a mass problem within the fanbase that you can point to having real consequences.

For anyone saying "why are you so defensive?" This is exactly why. When you paint with a broad brush you also sweep up people like me who are decidedly not in that camp, and I wholly resent the ideas about myself and other Gura fans that have been put forth more recently in this thread over the actions of 4 or 5 retards on /vt/ of all places. The post I am replying to right now is literally saying it is ok to assume such things, and the post that kicked this off today had no nuance other than 'chumbuds bad'. I hate to be the critical thinking police on this, but I'll do it from now on if I have to. If it was literally any other claim being made I wouldn't care, but it's just plain gross, so now here I am lol.

To add on/reiterate - Pretty much get tired of getting swept up into generalizations, especially ones that paint me as a lolicon/pedo. It's always "chumbuds" not "some chumbuds" or even better "some /vt/ spergs" but the entire fanbase thrown under the bus, which is blatantly not true. You say after you are called out that you just were talking about some Gura fans, but that is not the way it was worded originally and I don't think that most read it that way.

This is the same shit I kept calling out scuttle on. I didn't care that he was a nijifag, in fact I welcome news and perspective from a non-holofan, since they seemed the majority here. But what annoyed me with his posts were that when anything stupid happened he would always generalize it as being due to "holofans" not "some holofans" or even the general autists that seems to be in all the fandoms and cause problems.

As someone who has been watching and a fan of anime probably longer than many here are alive, it has been a constant battle to fight the generalization that all anime fans are neckbeard mother's-basement dwelling sweaty virgins who watch hentai all day. Just when it seems like they are finally getting to be seen as normal or at least not so abnormal, they seem to find some new thing to point fingers at. It's a sad spiral down - normies punch down on geeks/nerds, geeks/nerds punch down on anime fans, anime fans punch down on vtuber fans, and now vtuber fandom has become big enough that now they feel they have to punch down on sub-fandoms such as chumbuds to make themselves feel like they are superior, or at least better than "those degens". Guess what - we're all in this shithole together.

Since there is no interesting post right now I'll post some number's.

Wow Kaela is destroying everyone in time, even the previous stream hours queen Koyori. Also, I guess it seemed Gura was really streaming less this month, but didn't hit me how little until I saw this. Seems a lot of holoEN has been pretty quiet this month, thus the /vt/ joke/rrat others have posted I guess about not wanting the new bois to overshadow them. Probably good for me though as I've been touching grass a decent amount this summer and already badly enough behind on streams I want to watch and catch-up on, I can't imagine how bad it would be if they were even more active.

So you know how ID tends to clamp down on doxx stuff and "slander".

Yeah apparently the #1 known schizo and doxxer in the ID sphere just had a IRL bounty put on him because he targeted Kobo. The bounty is for getting his work and address information. His name and face is already known too.

Translation:
Hallo netizen
From our circle, we received a complain that Kobo Kanaeru got a provocating message from a man named Rizal Mahmud and that person also used to have a problem with nanabunnoID. From our investigation, Rizal Mahmud is not a real name, but we already found the real owner of that account, his name is Muhamad Ramdhani.
To uphold order in social media, we from Fans Vtuber server (probably Discord) decided to put a bounty on Rizal Mahmud a.k.a Muhamad Ramdhani. This photo her is the evidence that we gather.
Edited
The on who found him and force him to fulfill our demand, will be rewarded 1 million idr

Apparently it's not out of the question for thugs to possibly show up at this guy's home. If their pissed enough there has been a supposed case where someone was beat with sticks.
