What has Uki done? Aside from alluding to Roe vs. Wade via tweet, I don't recall any actual virtue-signalling unless you want to count being flamboyantly gay.

People simultaneously want vtubing to be apolitical and want to dissect and discuss the political opinions of everyone who becomes a vtuber. We saw this with Kronii and Nina too.

As far as I can tell, no. He "accidentally" [citation needed] said "heterophobia-- oops I mean heterochromia xDDD" in his debut, indirectly referred to Roe vs. Wade via a timed pep talk on Twitter, and acts massively gay. He's free to have whatever political stance he wants, main reason I don't like him is that he just doesn't feel like he has much personality outside of being gay, like a still not nearly as autistic variant of Sonicfox.

With Aia, I still think she's perfectly free to believe in what she wants, but my concern with her is just how public she appears to be with it, at least initially, on a platform that should by all means not be political. What concerns me about that is the increased risk of attracting Twitter politifags, who could start shit up and force people to educate themselves. Call it a slippery slope if you wanna, probably fair, but Vox had already attracted rabid fans who actively assaulted other Nijis just for existing near him in the past, so it'd likely be in everyone's best interest not to reach the point of "third time's the charm".

if you mean the spergout they had over her like last week? she was asked about the new lads, she basically gave a long answer saying that she's not really a big collab person anyway so there's not much to think about unless there's some large group collab and that people worried that things are going to change should instead put that energy to use improving themselves.

This has been said by /vt/ to be the same as Finana's "educate yourself" moment and decided that Ame is condescending to her paypiggies. "you shouldn't be telling them to improve themselves when they pay your bills" mindset

eh anyone wanting to crucify anyone over specific political positions is just a political tribalist, it's a different thing to look into it in the vein of "how likely is this person to bring politisperging to their stream and how that fanbase could affect others around them" which looking at times they've talked about it in the past can give you an idea of how engaged they are in the topic on the whole.

I've seen more or less what you've said here tossed around on /vt/ as well but it's a take that kind of misses the point of what a bunch of people are actually concerned about. (though to be sure there are definitely some people that are just "reee lefty reeee" A lot of people as well would be just as concerned by a full blown MAGA poster ending up in one of the corpos.

I checked /vt/ this morning and i think i saw the exact same thread you're describing, lol

In true /vt/ fashion they made her seem like she did an autistic spiel or was condescending about it, but she just tells them to seek therapy and move on lmao

Ame berating her audience in both subtle and unsubtle ways is one of the reasons she's my favourite. Paypigs deserve condescension.

(I say this as someone who hopes she never collabs with the stars because I would prefer her filling her collab quota with Gura and Kiara)

Nothing that would reach our radar if we weren't on a forum dedicated to dissecting everything and, often, tunnel-visioning the scope of the issue in the process.

Aside from the RvW tweet, his entire humour is about how homosexual he is, and he is very open about talking about that. He RTs gay porn and reminds people often that he is Non-Binary. His twitter timeline was a Skittles factory during Pride Month. And even with all that he mostly slips under the radar because these things are quite easy to ignore if you choose not to watch them - which is kind of what I'm getting at.

Aia could totally implode on stream, or she could become NijiEN's TTRPG girl that just so happens to have opinions I don't unilaterally agree with. I don't agree with lots of peoples' opinions but that doesn't mean I think they're wrong or stupid.
