I wonder what if any opinion these weirdos had on the 2018 zoosadism leaks.
I doubt many of them even know what a furry is.
They seem to love cats and dogs and hate monkeys from a pretty basal/animal level psychological place. The same place that makes dolphins torture, rape, mutilate, and kill porpoises, apparently just because they're porpoises and not dolphins. It's not based on any higher thinking such as the intellectual understanding that cats and dogs are capable of suffering and vulnerable to abuse. And they don't feel so responsible for the monkey hate because they don't regard it as a product of their own mind, but rather something forced upon them by a sort of instinct:
Because they are just not that smart and/or going senile, they lack the metacognition, theory of mind, and self-control to realise that other people will not understand that and/or won't agree that, because it feels totally natural to some people to hate monkeys, it's okay. And they cannot grasp that retributive justice (such as we're engaging in here by publicly depantsing people like
William Kent Zabel) is just one theory of justice among many and has its own problems.
I imagine many of us as children were gripped by a similar inexplicable urge to torture The Sims. When we got older we confronted the cognitive dissonance and accepted that even though nobody was technically getting hurt, something in our character and our ability to feel tenderness and connect with others is damaged/defiled by doing torturing Sims, and were able to act on that
more advanced moral thinking and stop torturing Sims. If we came from a religious family maybe we phrased it to ourselves in terms of our soul and/or karma. Regardless, we reached out for theology and/or ethical philosophy to magnify and make actionable the feeling of guilt we felt. We didn't just tune it out and shut that part of us down; we integrated it.
This whole phenomenon is a case study in the
banality of evil. Monkeys could in theory be substituted with some other kind of animal or human. In Imperial Japan the Unit 731 'scientists'
called their Manchurian torture subjects 'long tailed monkeys' in their papers. You just need a psuedointellectual (such as myself) to set up as a scapegoat (such as
William Kent Zabel) to serve as an effigy for the unsophisticated and childlike sadism of plebs (such as the woke HR/recruitment/ESG officer plebs who are now going to make
William Kent Zabel an unemployable pariah on the basis of obnoxious but otherwise perfectly legal public communications.)
