For someone who is obsessed with celebrity and The Biz™ he has no idea how it works.

If he wasn't such a retard, he could just make a 15 minute short-film and submit it to festivals.

Also, Russhole has no concept of “show, don’t tell” so a short film made by him would have to include 25 extra minutes of explaining all the jokes and other bullshit.

I mean, take this (won a 2008 Cannes Film Festival online film award) as an example of telling a complete story in under 10 minutes with little dialogue but yet so much emotion:

Imagine Russell trying to make a short film that didn’t “explain” with a ton of slides or subtitles or narration or other extraneous bullshit. Then again, try to imagine Russhole making a film about anything other than hookers and lawsuits and evil trolls on “weird websites”.

His short film could be the first 15 minute feature to sweep the Razzie awards. He could finally obtain the fame he always wanted. Boy, he will love the Me Too attention.
His 15 minute film would consist of 10 minutes of him explaining his disability and his situation with the trolls.

Russell deserves to be a Hollywood producer. 15 minute short-films are not where big time hollywood producers go
Those are often something neophyte filmmakers either in or just out of film school do. For instance, Wes Anderson's career started with a 15 minute (well 13 and a half) short of Bottle Rocket (an expanded version of which was his first feature film).

You generally have to do something stunning for someone of your level of experience and budget though. The only thing remarkable about Russhole's attempt would be how incompetent and lazy it would be. Not even passionate Tommy Wiseau bad.

THX 1138 was another one. It's kind of a credit to George Lucas that his film school short ended up being produced by Coppola when it came time to make the feature length version.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell did it with The Evil Dead, as well. Yeah, shit low budget horror film, but so fantastically done that the main character is completely integrated in pop culture to this day. The thing with it is these are highly talented (if a bit oddball) people, and the signs of talent are obvious even if the material is schlock. That and none of these shorts involve a dance at a nazi death camp where all the condemned girls fall in love with the ss guards.

Peter Jackson's Brain Dead and Bad Taste dude. Even Meet The Feebles was a great low budget schlock fest.

You have yourself a fantastic night with those films.

I was more referencing film school shorts that brought success later, but yeah, I completely agree. A bunch of friends, a few pitchers of crappy daiquiri mix daiquiris, and Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter is as good as a night in gets. Especially when you start with some terrible 1930s Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon serials.

Or even the 1980 Flash with Brian Blessed and Max von Sydow and soundtrack by Queen.

I'm still waiting for the demo reel.
