So just to catch up to speed, the Finana secret discord stuff and the Pomu discord meltdown are two completely seperate things that just coincidently happened around the same time?

The Finana 'Secret Discord' is a thing that returns this thread every few weeks despite two separate people already having said that the Valoguard Discord is very public and publicly talked about. There seems to be heavy overlap between mods there and people from her PL/FFXIV days but that's about as much as has actually been archived here.

The Pomucord thing is new as it happened last night.

So yes, they are separate things. No, they did not happen at the same time.

Sorry if I'm posting from a few pages behind, catching up on stuff, missed a lot going on for about a month. Not going to go through so many pages though, certainly a lot of debuts.

At least PhaseConnect did well with Gen2, the new Holostars are doing alright despite silly limitations, and Wave 6 of Nijisanji EN happened as well. Plenty to watch and react to.

I would say take what the mods say with a grain of salt, they are a Cover employee, but I don't think they are being disingenuous about the reasons in this instance.

The problem ultimately at the end of the day is there is no clear answer as to why holoEN/nijiEN collabs are being blocked but it's okay for the likes of vshojo which is baffling.

People play the China card but Kiara and Pomu have been trying to do stuff before Luxiem was a thing. It seems both companies have their reasons and it's just ridiculous because ID and JP have no problems, but EN can't even get anywhere. And all it shows is HoloEN is stuck in a bubble whilst NijiEN can get more but not the company they really want to do stuff with.

I do wonder if things might change due to Holostars EN though. Because the boys could do with working with the Niji side. But if Niji offer that hand, they should make it clear if they want any collabs, the girls have to be allowed to get theirs too from here on out. Especially when hololive gets anal about male/female collabs, but Nijisanji it's not only allowed, but embraced.

At the end of the day, if the holos want collabs, and the people on the other end aren't an awful company or are liable to cause drama, they should be allowed within reason.

Some are fine just staying in the holo bubble, but small corpos deserve attention too, as do decent indies with a strong following. Not just "well you can get Ironmouse but that's it".

I see Bae managed to get something with Miori recently so at least that's a start. But there's so much decent talent out there, management need to stop being shaky over non-holo people. Like if Fauna knows about Pippa....does she want to do anything with her? Or is she on the yab list still over the Kiara thing?

So who is to ultimately say that even if the Discord is 'public' there isn't yet ANOTHER fucking server they operate where this shit is going down. It's not like we can see the entire server. We have no way to verify, and what scant bit of information we do haven't doesn't look good to a critical/skeptical point of view.

This is exactly the problem though. It doesn't matter if it's 'public.' If she's operating at all in an official capacity as 'Finana' (which she clearly did) She shouldn't be associating on a server being run and operated by friends. That's out in the open now, and she can't unring that bell. It'd be different if we had a situation like with Calli/Demondice, Kronii/Dottovu, or fuck even Selen/Dokibird and she hung out on that server as "Yui". But she mixed Personal and Professional in a way that didn't have a clear wall/border, and is suffering the consequences of that.

Nah, creating an inner group inside of an already "exclusive" group is retarded. That's how you get lolcows and their orbiters. Ultimately it will destroy the community because nobody likes being alienated and singled out from some "le sekrit club"

And this is why Finana's community is fracturing lol. That said, I'm pretty sure Tsunderia recently either opened or closed their auditions so it could be that.

The real test of Tsunderia will be September IMO when Lisa and Amiya's contracts are up. Fishman could pull another Yoink if they haven't stabilized by then.

I mean if you're on a big public social site like discord, as much as you hate being on trend, you have to toe the line and be done with it. The owner could just ignore the flag and go off the site for a month and then never ask the server for including or not AT ALL.

One of the new Phase Connect girls had mentioned something like this, but it seems like it's more playing the algorithm than anything else. Seems like 1-3 hour streams are what's being favored right now, and having multiple 1 hour streams in a day with all of the talent seems the best way to play the numbers while not causing overlap between the four talents.

I was in there for the emotes and witnessed the place burn down over roughly 6 hours. I wasn't very active there, but this is what i could piece together:

Apparantly, almost 2 months ago, the server had a major fight in the mod team if they should or should not add the pride flag to the icon (since all other fan discords apparantly did so). They accused the owner of being racist and/or homophobic. They posted an announcement that ownership of the server would be transfered to someone else and that the original owner left. Nothing much happend afterwards until yesterday.

The original owner returned. I dont know if he either still was the owner or if he abused a bot to get access. He banned the entire previous mod team and stated "rampant mod abuse" and "power tripping against former staffers with servere mental health consequences" as reasons. The server went into lockdown.

Then, odd thing started to happen. The original announcement channel was deleted and a new one was created. A few meme threads (one dedicated to posting the ennadeadpan emote and another one for finana real memes) got deleted.

After the server reopened, people had already realised that this was a hostile takeover and started spam pinging the new "owner" over this. In the course of the next few hours almost every thread got deleted (since they somehow bypassed the general server lockdown) besides one that they somehow missed. 2 general chat channels also got deleted over time. Weird new channels like #funmny-channel-2 (no thats not a typo) got created. Multiple sockpuppet mod accounts appeared that never posted in the server before trying to calm things down (which obviously didnt work, asking "who are you" to a user with 30k messages send in the server is a bit dumb) and disappeared again.

As time went on, the chat fell into more and more anarchy. People started spamming gay images and other stuff shown by the screenshots here to piss the new owner off:


At around 12 am eastern time the server went into lockdown again, with only a single hidden thread remaining. At this point most people had moved to other servers, so nothing much happened afterwards. About 7 hours later, the server went into the full lockdown as shown here:

tldr: don't bring politics into entertainment, it always ends in a dumpster fire

EDIT: I think my conclusion still has some validity, but i think those 2 put it a bit better:

TLDR chad admin didn't want HIS sever used to virtue signal and people got assmad and attacked him so he suicide bombed the place

Grampire said that they are only being temporarily limited to an hour until that get acclimated cause they don't want any of them to get burnt out which is a very real concern for Axel at the very least i think he only had experience doing covers

A lot of bullshit happens that no one sees in these sort of things, its exactly the reason why discord has such a bad reputation. Wouldn't surprise me if this was a easy way for a power hungry mod to take over, or its exactly as you said and the discord admin is worried that his power might be gone.

Which is why everyone involved about this is highly autistic, but as long as i get to watch and laugh at what's happening, over a discord + pride flag of all things, im certainly happy about the outcome.
